If you wish to improve the way you pass suggestions or if you believe your ideas are not being taken into consideration try following these guidelines:

Tips for Better suggestions and post:
Identify the behavior that you want to criticize. Direct your criticism at the action, not the person. When you criticize a a person, then you are attacking their sense of identity. This is highly likely to provoke a fight.
Make criticisms specific. Not, "You suck and this thread is worthless!" But instead, either a) don't respond, or b) "Your thread is good, but you could've made it better in the following ways: etc."
Be sure the behavior you're criticizing can be changed and fixed. For instance, don't criticize a person because they are a Turk or because someone is stronger and/or have more gold and/or better gear than you. If everyone would accept the fact that there are things in life they have no control over, then this forum and the world would be a much better place.
Use "we" to stress that you want to work out the problems together, rather than making threats.
Make sure the other person understands the reason for your criticism.
Don't set a tone of anger, contempt, or sarcasm. They will ultimately only prove to be counterproductive.
Don't belabor the point. Short and sweet; no lectures.
Make sure that it is clearly understood that the two of you should not have to hold this conversation again. If you criticize/flame a person, you do not need to mention it again and again over and over again in other threads for the same accusation. People on this forum are not stupid.
If you have an issue with someone, don't publicly insult them or derail a topic; instead, follow the above guidelines and take it to PM (private messages) or seek help from a moderator or an admin. We're always here to help.
The above guidelines can be used to improve posting in not just General Discussion but also in other sub-forums too.

we need some flames once in awhile or this forum will be boring. to many rules on a forum is like being at school.. it sucks
Stop people from posting 'omg lol botter' 'LOLER GOLD BUYERZ' in every damn topic. We have a section for that. It'd be nice to cut back on spam but...there's way to much of that for just you two to handle. =\
Don't lock topics because you think people will flaim. This only will irritate people who's intention was not to flame (and also the people who's intention was to flame ). Just wait and see, if anyone flames, edit and give warning. Second time flaiming = lock.

stop the +1 posts and mabe ban the word Bot and Venus also from being said.
i dono about others but im getting tired of seeing topics about the same 2 subjects everyday

Actually do something about the useless posts. A warning system would be good. Or disabling post count.

Disabling post is to extreme. A warning system based on how constructive the person's post can be put in place. If someone make's a useless post report it and they will be given a light warning, the second time will be a real warning.
Ban one person for bot accusation to send a message to the rest. Right now the Zero Tolerance thing seems like more talk than action.
People have been publicly and privately warned for bot accusation without proof. Usually, after being warned once they never make the mistake of falsely accusing someone again. A person cannot be banned after one warning, but if warnings build up and the final Warning (3rd one) is a bot accusation one, then they will be banned for Bot accusation without evidence.
Try to stop people from making every topic Venus related.
If a topic that was not intended to involve Venus, starts to revolve around venus; report the thread. I will split the Topic and send the Venus post where they belong, and I'll warn the original hijacker.

True, I know what you mean. From now on, topics won't be locked immediately. Instead we will use the Zero-Tolerance rule more often. Make sure to report threads that are full of flames. Stay vigilant.
Though it'd probably be hard to get solid evidence, much harder than botting. But, if solid evidence is however produced they should be banned.
I'll bring this up in the EL.

Typing constructively is necessary. We can't ban specific terms but we can warn for Bot accusation and topic hijacking.

Just to follow on from this, we do have a warning system, and since the Zero Tolerance rules came in, many have been handed out, and those that have been warned have not rarely re-offended. In fact, im pretty sure I've only given 1 person a 2nd warning, and that person has since eaten banhamma for being an arse in other sections.

Agreed, when people post an in game screen-shot, you always have one person with a "no yellow boxes. Botter." post..
so i think that no bot accusations would be nice.
Edit: this accusations usually cause conflict in the forum. so it's gotta be a bonus if something to stop them is made

I have a new suggestion that would clean out a few idiots in GD. Banning for posting things that aren't yours and claiming them to be your own, or just outright attention-whoring. Here's a ban from the AC for ripping: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=88576
And two recent threads in GD where the posters are absolute liars: SkanKaZoiD viewtopic.php?f=2&t=94853

Try to keep the accusations down. For those saying keeping every thread venus related is cause those from venus come here to give the bits of knowledge we have but others snap back like "we dont like your kind around here."

I'd also like to add that an IQ test must be taken before registration is completed and the user must score at an average level to be allowed to register. It will keep this from being needed.
