Why do ALL warriors wear Heavy Armor ?????!!!

All the way from Barpolles in Europe and eventually to Chasers in Roc Mountain, every mob I've partied against have physical attacks. The higher my physical defense, the more mobs I can tank, and the more XP the party gets.

I'm mainly focusing on leveling for the moment, so I don't PvP that much. When the time comes, I might consider getting a robe set.

heavy for walking around looking completely badass.
light for tanking with cleric.
and robe for pvp against Chinese. etc

The reinforce stats on your armors only go towards your phy and mag defense. Being a pure str, and wearing HA, will definitely give you more phy defense than say, a pur int wearing the same exact set.

That's true, but once you hit Roc Mnt, all the mobs do some sort of Magical attack. You come with sucky HA to roc pts, you're gonna get hit harder than those in LA and Robes.

just dont wear those helmets that make u look like a 9 year old and u'll be fine

Light Armor looks like ass either way you think about it. I dunno how you could stand it, but I can't. 9D male doesn't look that bad, but it's pretty bad.

Heavy Armor = Orgasmic.
Light Armor = Puke.
Robe = Less Orgasmic.

And those saying robe > heavy armor, sure robe will benefit more in this cap(Heavy armor is around 1500/1500 if no passives) and robe is like (1300/1800 i think? Correct me on this if i'm off so bad lol).

Since magical damage did increase a shit ton this cap.. yeah. Robe would be a smart choice, but since we all like to look cool over defense.. coolness wins! Besides heavy armor isn't bad unless you're fighting a pure int in mana shield. Then you just gotta play around with him and once again.. euro isn't meant single play. If you got a party you wouldn't really need to worry. 1vs1 is a different story.

I am a warrior and i DO NOT wear heavy armor. I wear light armor.

Hvy armor sucks u get 1 nuked.

With light i can survice 3 (cuz my set is good)

Hvy armor sucks in general. Warriors have high def already they dont need the extra phy, they are slow as hell and even slower with hvy, and they need some mag def.

Light armor solves all the problems and works great with cleric sub cuz u get those bonus def while ur buffed and cleric.

so to summarise:

1-heavy armor is good all the way till u reach ROC mountain, then its better to switch into light armor for grinding

2-in terms of looks (according to most opinions) : HA > Robes > LA

3-HA does NOT affect the damage u deal

4-Robes are relatively the best final choice at the cap, unless u are going to get the cleric passives.

5-it is handy to have both HA and Robes, or just LA if u cant afford 2 sets.

6-HA is better mainly for tanking large parties, since most (not all) of the damage is going to be physical.

7-robes are usefull in 1v1 pvp, especially against S/S nukers who are considered the main challenge for a warrior/cleric.

8-two handers are slow and lack MP, so robes are supposed to fix this in addition to its healing bonus.

I don't understand why a Warrior would want to wear Heavy Armor though. The Warrior tree has tons of physical defense passives and the pure STR stat distribution means you already have high physical defense. As a Warrior, you should really pay attention to magical defense, not physical. I would understand a Warrior/Cleric in LA because of Cleric passives, but in Heavy Armor? Seems counter-productive to me, specially with all those magical-based mobs in Roc Mountain. It would be like a Glaiver or a Blader wearing an Armor set.

And personally, I think Heavy Armor is visually horrible. Makes you look like a giant robot lobster, which would be cool to have if it gave you passives when you wore it.

for me, with 1H i have 1800 phys def and like 1750 mag def with HA.
I have 1680 and 2217 with robe.

having specialized gear as a euro is smart. Chinese can go with the overall good set cuz it works out well, but having 2 sets allows me to defeat pot delay.

that would be nice if ur gonna farm the passives.. (which take a HELL ton of sp to farm). but i suppose robes would be overall better, covering ur speed and mana issues and also giving u the bonus healing passive.
well, in robes u can atually act as a cleric if u wanna.. but thats impossible to do with any other gear beingfull str

Dont forget you only get cleric passives when the rod is equiped. But robe does give you the 20% less mp usage so it would help alittle bit with mp pottage. Robes also doesnt make you attack faster, but instead your movement speed when you run away is faster then LA or HA.

1- yea i know u only get the passives when u're holding a cleric rod.. but actually thats the ONLY time when u will be really needing them. normally u would have bless and skins for 90 seconds, then 30 skinless seconds which u need to survive, and thats when u switch to cleric rod and make use of the passives.

2-i know the robes dont give u attack speed !! i am talking about the "movement" speed issues. u dont have any speed buffs at all, so any extra speed is welcome. and the speed isnt only for running away, its for running AFTER ppl when u are getting them pwned
