Phy and Mag Balance %
Phy and Mag Balance %
I know the % is determined by how many int str points you have. My question is, if i add 1 str and 2 int instead of the usual 3 int, then this brings my mag balance down from 115-114%. Besides the obvious decrease in attk and def from adding 1 str, will that change in 1% mag balance cause any noticeable effect?
I guess my question is, does the mag and phy balance % actually do anything itself, like maybe Attks x 1.15 vs attks x 1.14? Or is it just for show and so you can help build a character with the balance you like?

I don't remember the damage equation but %'s are imporant, but I doubt 1% will ruin you.
Keep in mind 1 stat point is not 1%.

Re: Phy and Mag Balance %
I know that, but if i add 2 int this lvl, according to nivlam, my % will drop by 1. So I have to continue to add 3 int if i want my mag balance to be at 115%.

Re: Phy and Mag Balance %
The percentage doesnt do shit, its just how many int stat points you have. I have 120% balance right now (max i think) and when a cleric gives me an int buff my MP and attack power go up but my balance stays the same. Yes, having a high balance increases your damage but its not the percentage that boosts you attack. If you had 115% mag balance and added 3 int but the balance % remains the same, you attack will still go up. So decreasing your int by 1 and mag % by 1 would have an unnoticeable effect.

As the level grows, max balance becomes harder to achieve, AFAIK.

Nope, 120% is the max. Its only a matter of cleric buffs.

only because of the ratio. the magical balance is the ratio of int to str points turned into a percentage. it becomes harder to change at higher levels because of the ratio and the amount of points added into str and int. same goes with str.

Are you certain about that? Because according to nivlam, it's not the ratio. If i ignore the +60 str on my set, my mag balance stays the same. I think the mag balance is the % of how much int and str is possible based on ur lvl.
But is the overall concensus that the % is just for show and can not have a major effect on dmg?
