Also its not really that hard to get into one over here 9from what ive seen/experienced atleast), you apply to a course at the college rather than the college it self and as long as you meet all the requirements for the course (alot of courses for example require a C or above in GCSE english and maths) and there is enough space left you should get in easily. Everything ive done so far has been on a first come first serve basis.
Well Yea.. as Dom Poilety said about Canada. any fucktard can get in. but i gained access to the BTEC BND not via GCSE but my previous diploma the BFD (Btec First Diploma) which i did there as well..
Gawd that class was fulla of chavs ¬¬
Pshhh. GCSE was a funny time. lol

Universities are funded by the money you pay them to attend...

Re: College
^ on the contrary dom, not if u got to some schfancy school like yale
take yale for example it tuition is about 60k including tuition, board, food etc
however yale and all other ivy schools are need-blind schools, which means it only depends on how much your parents earn and how much you can earn by working
if your parents earn less then 60k a year, yale is free, it just gives u the 50-60k and the remaining 10k is from u working
if ur parents earn 60-150k, yale usually require your parents to pay about 5-10% of their income (i need to check on that i believe its even lower than that) and the rest is paid
if your parents earn more than that then it all depends on wat your parents earn and yale gives you a percentage

Re: College
I am applying in early September, which is the start of my senior year. This year will be interesting because of the myriad of AP courses I'm taking, but in the end I think it will all be worth the workload. If I perform well enough on the tests, I could very well eliminate a semester of the garbage classes.
That aside,

Families earning less than $60,000 annually will not make any contribution toward the cost of a child’s education, and families earning $60,000 to $120,000 will typically contribute from 1% to 10% of total family income. The contribution of aided families earning above $120,000 will average 10% of income.

I declined my RMIT offer... didnt play up to par.
Harvard dom, if you are serious about it then go for it. I visited Harvard, amazing. I Was part of the HMCA (Harvard Model Congress Asia). The students and staff are great.
Harvard is not the preppy school that people think it is. It's normal. A great normal, but normal non the less.
Well, at least that was my impression from all of harvard that i was exposed to.

The problem is the cost, but if they have something similar to Yale, I have a reason to start going to class.

Re: College
well dom, if u'r really interested in going to harvard, and u'r just now "going to class", it might be a bit hard for u. the 1 kid that got into harvard in my high skool spent hours everyday after school reviewing school work. he had no off periods, and he played in tennis varsity. he had lots of grey hair. good luck

I had to write one for my undergrad enrollment. I remember asking one of my teachers to write me a recommendation letter as well, but then before Christmas break I got accepted (December 19th) - a full 3 months before anyone else in my cohort got any news and like 2 weeks after applying ^_^ it was my #1 choice and was supposed to let me slack my last year. I ended up never having any spares or easy courses because I wanted to add to my average for scholarships/bursaries.
Didn't need to write an application essay or get a recommendation letter.

Why are you applying so late?
Shit i applied for mine like at the start of the year, im even leaving for it in a couple weeks.
I didnt apply to any US or UK Universities, because i didnt want to. I applied for Australian and Canadian Universities. All with great standing and reputation.
Didn't have any "Fall Backs" cuz i knew they would just be a waste of money.
Key-J was supposed to come to Millenium and I @ UWaterloo =[

Not sure about the US, but here academia = atheist or very liberal christian; wouldn't be something worth writing about.

Depends on the school. Some are religion based some are more "free". Just wait man, its freshmen year have fun, **** around, and try not to get in too much trouble.

It helps to know what field you want to go in, then write about the opposite.
