Don't name it and then sell it for more once you get it to a higher level. Nobody wants to buy a named pet.

Meh, just name it. Wolves sell for jack squat anyways. The only person that will be using it is you while you grind or when you end up harrassing noobs in job/guildwars.

[A lvl 90 wolf on Troy sells for 20m or less; not even worth the investment of grasses, wolf pots, wolf hunger pots, or even time. Most people that need a wolf already have one, especially at the cap; so selling it is a hassle anyways. I tried making a business of it myself at the 80 cap when I farmed by just making tons of lvl 80 unnamed wolves, but selling them took forever.]

EDIT: list of names [meant for characters, but hell, maybe you'll find something for your wolf.]:
