bot lvl doesn't mean i suck, mean's i'm lazy, which i am. got a t-shirt to prove it.

oh, and i'm the only one gaining from the plvl as he's a mate. yeah so, oh don't play the but but only i get something while doing nothing!! game.. oh wait, i am. oh.. and so is everyone else.

What's so bad about plvl? Sure it sucks to see player botters plvl and fully farm another character from 0 - 80 in a month, but hey, wouldn't you like to lvl faster in exchange for a bit of money?

Don't take it so literal. What I mean is bot plvl is totally wrong, just like botting. You're indirectly using the bot, giving it a motive to stay active. This isn't a thread based on plvl vs bot plvl though, so keep on topic.

Hahaha it's so nice to see more people backing me and Guthix up on our arguments from earlier in the topic. Now that this topic has been moved to the General Boards, everyone has a chance to respond to Fly and Co.'s hypocrisy. :D

Nice job on the pics, s1rslayer. Very nice.

The problem isn't power leveling.

It's that this game is boring, repetitive, and brings no true replay value OR incentive for new or older players.

Think I'm wrong? How many people on this game get p leveled, buy gold, buy levels, and buy/use bots?

Power leveling isn't a problem, it's a symptom of an ever greater problem.

Yeah, Silkroad has no 'party-quests', nothing fun or exciting to do as a party.

Uniques are more or less, first in best dressed. ie. First one gets the kill. Whereas most other games it can take up to hundreds of people to kill a unique, those uniques don't have spawns though to stop lag, though Lineage 2, WoW etc, their raid bosses are far funner.

We also need more dungeons, and other fun stuff. Until Joymax implements something like that I hope they keep powerleveling, I powerlevel my academy BY hand for Honor points.

if you read, i was reading the first post and assuming Fly/avalon leadership saw this problem as a bug, thus any partying with people 5 levels different would be bug abuse, not legit to disobey joymax TOS in my opinion.
but they, as the rest of us, don't know if this is a bug or not. So we will wait till after they get a official reply from joymax about the subject.

What I don't understand is that I hear that there are ones hate powerleveling and how its ruining the game, yet they turn right back around and actually do it after its all been said and done. Then they complain about how the party system is flawed and that only people within +5/-5 levels can gain decent exp, but people join Euro parties when they are 10 levels below the mob fought with the current system to gain the best exp. Theres only one solution to that: Grow a pair, quit your bitchin' and stop giving out powerlevels instead of complaining to Joymax about more and more shit that you're not happy with. Honestly its like you're never satisfied with the game and what they are attempting to do with all the botbans+patches (whether it be a temporary half-assed attempt for that GNWG... whatever that event is; or a permanent change.)

Agreed, being a chinese char, grinding is boring as hell, and theres not alot of fun things to do, there is Capture the Flag, but its bugged most of the time. That is the reason why I don't buy silk anymore, untill Joymax makes it more exciting and more things to do I will treat it as a free game.

I plvl, and I don't care if I do, If i get a good drop and get some cash, whats wrong with spending an hour boosting some exp? Being a pure str blader its slow leveling, so I like getting an extra 30-40% or some SP without the boring solo grinding. But I mainly do it for the SP farming. Then grind with a 0 gap :)

Yes. Its called laziness. Hence the reason all bots exist.

Plvl= lazy.
Lazy= Bots.

To me, idc who you are, plvl makes me think of you the same as I would think of a bot. If you don't wanna grind, then don't play.

Same as saying "I wanna promotion, but I don't want to go to work, I wanna sit at home and sleep. But still, promote me!!" -.- You don't get things for doing nothing.

I don't think a lvl 90 legit has a reason to be jealous of a bot pwrlvled player. :wink: In most legit circles, receiving bot pwrlvl is considered illegitimate because you're knowingly benefiting from a illegal third party program. If you didn't know they were botting, it's different. In this case you acknowledged it and support it.

Not only has plvling cause a bad influense on the game by making players lazy but also by increasing the number of scammers in the game. (I plvled before and I still am. srry. but i shouldnt lie) People get scammed alot, because they are looking for a good person to plvl them. But sometimes the plvler scams them for alot of gold. (im scared to plvl now because im so scared of being scammed) :(

It's kind of hard not to know their botting when they constantly level for 18-24 hours a day and yeah i'm benefiting, if i said oh don't bot what do you think he'd do.

The problem isn't power leveling.

It's that this game is boring, repetitive, and brings no true replay value OR incentive for new or older players.

If the game is boring, DON'T PLAY. Games are meant to be fun and enjoyable. A lot of people, myself included, like playing SRO. We like hand grinding and most everything else about the game. If you find it boring, why even bother to run around the server begging for plvl just to have a high level character that you can play with in this awfully boring game? Mind you, a high level character that you know little to nothing about because you have no experience grinding it.

Yes, I find power leveling (by bot or legit) to be a problem. I find golf to be a boring sport, so I don't play. I don't just play and hire other people to hand-carry my golf ball closer to the hole when I hit it.

AngloKnight wrote:...by denying exp to members in a party if they're afk for example or not using skills at all... just suggestions but I hope wat Fly said doesn't ruin the current benefits...

I don't think that would really solve anything. Then I could just trace a lvl 90 and spam auto healing skills and noise on myself, without actually doing any real playing.

Argonaut wrote:
deathtoall wrote:Nice post, just one question. What about people who powerlevel their own alts. Should it be said that if anyone wants an alt they should level it themselves?

This post isn't against powerleveling. Until the system is fixed, feel free to powerlevel your alts all you want. Not like its suddenly "not legit" to powerlevel...

It's not against power leveling?

Fly wrote:All the legit guilds on venus know the pain in the ass plvling has been. Avalon over the course of its year on venus has kicked atleast 300 players for this issue alone....Powerleveling has hurt the legit community also by legit plvling.

That sounds like a statement against power leveling to me. As far as alts go, I think that yes, you should level your own alt. There is a reason that each account can have up to 3 or 5 characters on it. Keep your alts on the same account as your main, and then you can't power level it anyway.

Fly wrote:[power leveling] is just the legit version of botting at the moment.

And that is what I've been saying about power leveling the whole time since it started.
