Fixing the Job system
Much of the jobbing now a days is around the gates. To fix this the spawn point of thives should be at random locations outside of the city that are away from the roads. Outside the gates of the city for a 75m range as well as inside stealthing should be impossible. Realistically your in far too many things line of site for your disappearing to make sens and for security reasons most cities would react. This system would not let thives enter town this would make so your trades would not get stalked all around town and pvp would be at crossroads.
If you have buffs running on a character that is in a suit you will be in offender status for the buffs duration If you res or heal them you will have offender status for 2 minutes
Thoughts?

Re: Fixing the Job system
If you really want to enjoy jobwars then actually go out of town and find trades those are the real jobwars.
those gate fights can simple be done with 2 teams each different cape color.
The offender status i completelly agree with anyone without a jobsuit should get offender status if he heals/res/buff any suited player that should solve lot of "lame" problems since euro patch.

Ok, if no theifs can go in town, then that means that they cant equipt their job suit in town, therefore making it possible to equipt outside of town, and then they could run around on the trails till they see a hunter or trader and equipt theif suit just like the old days and BAM! Kill the hunter/trader. Thanks for idea.

Hated that so much back in those days.
The new job system is great just some minor bugs but hey guess we are used to that from Joymax.
People that love to jobwar outside of the gate should simply organize it, therefor teams can be close to equal that is the only way you will see some major jobwars these days, before this job update you could simply choose who to help reason why most people loved the old jobwars more.
Re: Fixing the Job system
NPC traders that trade between towns. It will give Hunters something to protect, Thieves something to rob, and well; real traders will just do their thing.

Yea but since its an NPC it will have limited routes. Thieves will just camp these routes. I dunno it could be fun i guess, but will never happen JM too lazy to code all that lol

Re: Fixing the Job system
It's not clever as thief to stick to a gate, the trader is in before you can kill him.
Thieves have to swarm. Atm they are just out for a job war just are the hunters hanging around a city gate ^^
And as stated I really doubt that JM will take in consideration a suggestion posted by players to rewrite a part of their programs. They are a bit lazy about that

Re: Fixing the Job system
Majority of the players in the game are cowards who do 1* trade runs till lvl 40, then switch to another job, or even stop jobbing completely after lvl 40. What happens because of this? There aren't enough 2*+ traders when people go thiefing or hunting (yes, 1* traders usually do reject Hunters in parties).
That doesn't help the situation at all. The result of this is the lame "job-wars" you see outside the city gates. These "job-wars" usually involve one side hiding in the protection of the safe zone, while the other side boredly waits for the cowardly opponents to step outside the gates. This waiting game continues until one side gets bored and leaves.
Now I'm not saying that this situation happens all the time; I have seen vids of really good job wars in youtube. However, from my experience, this dull "waiting game" happens majority of the time.
What JM should do is significantly reduce the amount of gold people get from grinding after they hit lvl 20, take off the 1* immunity for traders, AND increase the amount of profit people earn from jobbing. This will force everyone to go jobbing eventually, because they will otherwise run out of gold to buy things.
Maybe this idea is a bit biased in favor of high-levels, but that can't be helped. What's the point of grinding to the cap if you can't have fun? (Again, I am fully aware that there are many botters out there who grind to the top, only to bully others, and frankly, don't deserve to have fun. But this is for the sake of the legits). Jobbing is meant to be a fun experience. Naming this game "Silkroad" for historical purposes is pointless if there is no such thing as trade runs in-game.
Edit: this idea can also work with level restrictions, now that I think about it. High-level people will be forced to go jobbing too, so there will be enough 2* traders, hunters, and thieves for everyone.

Re: Fixing the Job system
I liked the old system better, just wear a suit you feel like wearing. We used to have big job wars on Olympus back in the day, now there hasn't been a job war in months.. just an occasional trade, occasional robbing etc. We even resort to robbing our own union just to have some fun out of the job system

i agree there were way more jw back in the day, cuz if u hated one union and they were one job u could just jump to the other.

Another reason why people should stop being pussies these days and simply switch unions, join unions with the same job types and if one job type dominates the server switch.

Lol, talk about what are the levels of those NPC traders?
will they have NPC hunters there too?
what about NPC thieves?
And if they only have one route to go trading people will be like, Ok time to PK2 the dots and coordinate the NPC traders route, or simply remember it.
Good ideas, but its too much work to fix these kind of problems if JM's involved.

Re: Fixing the Job system
My ideas for fixing the job system :
1-Give hunters their own transport (like a faster horse)
2-Hide hunters/Traders Gears just like the thieves
3-high level trader/hunter/thieves can get extra bonuses or different suits
4-number of stars the trader is carrying effects the level of the thief that can attack him (1* a thief of his level can attack him , 3* a thief 5level more than the trader can attack him ,......etc)
5-players experience & sp gained increase by 5% if they are grinding with their job suits on

Re: Fixing the Job system
System is good, just need to decrease the amount of gold mobs drop after lvl 20, and fix the most annoying thing in games unsuited clerics, who ruin jobbing and guildwars.
Re: Fixing the Job system
Perhaps the 1* immunity could be removed, but by introducing a level limitation so that high level thieves can't attack a level 20 trader on a job. After the fort was introduced in jangan you have taxes to pay, and a 1* trading job between jan and don isn't giving lots of gold anymore. You probably drop more by gold grinding during 30 minutes than by doing a trade during 30 minutes. So a higher reward from a trade is welcome.
And yes, clerics shouldn't be able to cast spells on players in a job suit unless they are in the same party.
I also like the idea of a hiding job suit for traders and hunters so that you can't see the level of the player.

Re: Fixing the Job system
i guess the biggest glitch in the job system is that going grinding will get you more gold , items & exp than going trading/thieving a 1 star
