The Powerleveling Problem

As a new player you used the stalls to get cash? I know I sure didn't. I never knew what price to make things.

I went by NPC prices and removed 15%, then I checked stalls and would lower or increase the price from my base price based on the prices of others. That combined with trading every Saturday for the whole day gave me a decent amount of Gold.

I dont believe that party system is bugged, I believe that is on the game on purpose to have the highest number of high level players because joymax make more money from high level players than low level players. Right now I'm powerleveling my buffer char on the caves and she is leveling 1 lvl each day with 3 gap and no ticket, so isn´t only botters that can take profit of party system.

Haha. These screenshots made my day, first they abused the "bug" for few months, and now they want to get rid of it. Like a botter botting to 90 and then sending bug reports to get rid of the bots. You made my day Venus players.

Everyone in that screen has a level 90 char. Rather than see them lose interest and fade from the game for lack of things to do, they plevel alts to mess around on, all chinese chars.

Not to mention the fact that no one said it wasnt being done, we all know it is. We allow legit plevel and never said it was against our rules. The problem isnt there, but in the fact that most of our low level players are being caught up in bot PLing and the laziness that PLing causes. When the gravy train runs out at level 6X or so, they just quit playing cause leveling by hand isnt something you just start doing for the first time with a level 60 char.

I am tho quite impressed with how obsessive some people are. I am just awed by how much Avalon and everything they do impacts the game. If Fly so much as twitches it makes a topic 5 pages long in the Venus section. ^^ Thanks for making us feel so special.

How can Fly say this:

Powerleveling has hurt the legit community also by legit plvling. We have alot of middle tier players that are rejected from parties because they dont know there builds. Being rejected makes them bitter and causes un-needed drama. On top of that the begging for plvl by both legits and botters is just annoying as hell. powerlevel has brought out the worst in SRO. Getting rid of it would boost grind parties. Players who relied on plvl will start to party. botters who relied on plvl may be tempted to reroll legit and grind with our community, instead of being rejected.

Ill tell you why we dont enforce it. lol Its hard enough to keep people from messing around with bot programs and third party BS, stuff that is not legit.

Our suggestion to ask JM to fix the game to prevent it will indeed prevent it for everyone. We never said it wasnt legit, never said it should be bannable. We know that Avalon union, OverKill union and BlackHand union powerlevel chars for various reasons. No one is trying to stop people from using an existing function of the game as it is right now.

We want JM to consider viewing it as a bug and fixing it. I do believe I have said this over and over and over again in this thread.

So while you're trying to brand members of Avalon Lulous what do you think of plvl? Or does your ong pfarmed character say that you want it to stay around.

When trying to keep bots out and people legit plvling can be a problem. Capped characters have no impact since you all hate us so much anyways, while new players who get plvled end up being beyond broke, end up in bot plvls, leech in parties, play their chars poorly, beg and cry all day for plvls, and create shitty guild members.

Yea I'll do it cause it's something to do, while it's still apart of the game. I will still have a already capped character and can take care of myself. I still don't like the idea of it but it's apart of the game.

That's way different than saying "oh well botting is around so I'll bot and say everyone shouldn't" That's a third party program and illegal while plvling is in the system.

Say you want to fix some bug with the trade system and want players to help send in bug reports. Are you all going to stop trading and jobbing until it's fixed? I highly doubt it.

I'm not trying to brand anyone of anything, just asking, is it legit to take adavantage of a bug whether it's programmed into the game or not? Is this even a bug like the original post made it seem?

cause to be honest, If bots and shiz are eradicated i don't see why plvl would need to be, just legits helping other legits level, that is if i saw a post from morningdew stating that this WASN'T a bug. It's only harmful because people take horrible advantage of it, which i see and know corrupt isn't doing.

Just i guess are there legit vs nonlegits ways to take advantage of a bug?

No we dont KNOW IT IS WRONG. You are imposing a moral thing on it. We arent. We are just saying that powerleveling isnt really good for the community. Mercs werent good for the community either. Did that stop me from using them? Nope. I merced up like everyone else to keep my trades alive. Was I glad to see them gone? Hells yeah. Even though I know members of my union, your union and every other legit union in SRO have used powerleveling at some point, will I cry to see it gone? Nope. I don't play Euro and I don't accept powerleveling, so this game died for me the day people stopped playing Chinese by hand. When I played on Venice, I was in a nice small guild with a handful of friends. We would see who could level the fastest, run around with job suits on, do noob trade runs and get popped, explore outside the boundaries, party when we got SOS drops, etc. Things like that kept me going, and they were fun because we were noobs. When everyone I knew moved on to WoW, started botting, or disappeared, I quit playing and started messing with the files. These days it's impossible to find a guild full of noobs because everyone is so farking obsessed with getting capped, so I don't even bother.

The only people in TheEMPIRE that get powerleveled is that one small group of Chinese. Its always the same people, they all have capped chars. You dont party with those people ever.

The game sorta lost its life with powerleveling, I have to admit. Although so many people are used to it, specially people with capped chars planning a new character. Thats how I see it.

For those haters out there on Avalon, try managing a union like they are, and then talk trash. Self contradictory at times, but nontheless thinking abroad and suggesting ideas for what might improve the game. I had a taste of what it meant to control a legit union powerhouse, and it's not easy, dealt with constant harrasment 24/7.

But yeah, treating powerleveling as a bug would really hurt people unless they thought of it to a even bigger problem. I like whoever posted "Powerleveling is only a symptom to an even bigger problem." Just look at ksro too lol. Sp farm a person to 100 cap YOURSELF and then level it 1 - 100. That would uh.. be very inconvenient, but that's passing out on a huge portion of the game. It's just making fcking chars to pvp with.
