The Bonus of Weapon Masteries

Post by Spellbinder »

I didn't notice until a while ago, but when you over your mouse over the little icon of your mastery, you get something to the effect of "[Weapon] when equipped, attack power will be increased to [_]%"

Just thought I'd ask, is this bonus to Physical and Magical Attack or just the Physical?

Wait, if it's both, why don't more nukers get maxed weap mastery? Most keep at 20-30... with the extra % of magic damage, it'd be worth it to pump it up. >>

Ok so I know it's both now, but Mr. Knight up there does make a good point since Nukers usually don't max weapon masteries. I'm guessing this is because not maxing it won't 'make or break' your nuker?

umm... the nukers i see max spear up to 60 for the health bonus... or 60 sword for the blocking bonus...

IMO its stupid to not up any weapons...

thats 60% more weapon damage... which makes the nukers even stronger...

and yes im sure its both

i dont think the weapon mastery is increasing the nukes dmg. nukes are purely magic dmg
the force mastery is increasing the attack power of the given force. fire mastery for fire, ect

Ok, this needed testing, so I just increased my sword skill in-game. The result: phy attack is up, mag attack stays the same. Conclusion: just for this it's no use raising it if you're a nuker. There may be other reasons of course. :)

Does the light skill "Pierce" affect melee dmg when imbued with Fire?

The pierce skill increases all magical damage, so also the one on your character, the one on your weapon, and the imbue you may put on it.

Btw, did anyone notice that the imbue skill of ice does about the same damage as the imbue of lightning? Makes me wonder if I should put some points into ice sometime for PvE fighting (buffs and frost; I'm pure int)
