The definition of legit is unclear, i have an explanation.

Post by Coer »

Legit - use finger to do calculation for math.
Not a legit/Bot - Use calculator to do math.

As simply as this.

but what wrong with bots? ( NOT GOLDBOT )
1.They dun cheat someone.
2.They are not harmful to anyone.
3.They dun scam.
4.They are Human who are smart in doing scripts.
5.They use brain to play and programming the bot.

This is the technology. The power of microsoft who turn this world into a programming world. Make use of the technology we have dude.

pls read it probably, if u ban me, it shows how ****** you are.

Thx reading it

Well actually, it says in the rules that 3rd party programs are illegal, and also people who use bots did not make them. They waste money on them. So heres my question, are you legit?

That's a poor analogy. Calculators aren't concerned with the steps it takes to get to the answer. They merely simplify common tasks. A calculator isn't going to tell you how to do integration by substitution. The closest example in Silkroad to your calculator analogy is autopot versus manual potting.

Botting is like having a calculator that will do the problem step by step for you, so that you merely have to give it the initial parameters and it does the rest of the work. Taking a test with such a calculator, you would need nothing more than the knowledge required to input problems. Of course, this distinction only becomes apparent when you get to the higher levels of math.

Also, you are wrong to generalize botters as intelligent, computer-savvy programmers. I'm willing to bet half of the suckers couldn't even open a command prompt without a full picture tutorial.

1.They dun cheat someone.
They use a program to do work intended to be done by hand, that IS cheating.
2.They are not harmful to anyone.
They kill mobs meant for people actually handgrinding.
3.They dun scam.
No opinion, neither can you give one seeing you can't know each botter and know wether they would scam or not.
4.They are Human who are smart in doing scripts.
I doubt any botter could do more then press the start button, select where to attack, and choose what skills they let their bot do.
5.They use brain to play and programming the bot.
Sure there are some smart people out there programming the bots, making the updates and keeping it running, does that mean each person using it can do the same?

You're failing as much as Cruor's speech does not :).

And your example with the calculator makes no sense either,
there's a huge difference between a competition and work.
You seem to miss 2 points concerning Silkroad:
1) There are rules (always applies).
2) This is a game.

What you are doing is comparing a game, Silkroad in this case, with work, let's say having to build a house.
If a building contractor can find tools or ways to build the house faster, staying legal (otherwise he'd be a lawbreaker/criminal) it's allowed.
If a gamer is to lazy to grind, or to desperate to reach a high level, and uses illegal means to level faster, he's a cheater in the gaming environment, in real life he'd be known as a lawbreaker/criminal.

If you still don't understand send me PM, I'll be happy to enlighten you,
as probably a lot of people on these forums are.

i dont see how u can compare a calculator to a bot. calculators were made to help solve math problems, not do the problem for u. bots are made to play the game and lvl u while u do nothing but press "start" and program what mobs to attack.

About me:
  • I grind by hand
  • I farm by hand
  • Sometimes I got powerleveled by a friend of mine (not bot)
  • I don't scam. Earn my money by buying cheap selling high.

So, I consider myself legit. Am I wrong?
I wanna be on the top of it
I wanna live for the fun of it
I wanna speak for just a little bit

Legit:

Play by the rules set by joymax.
Do NOT spend money on the game except for silk (No botting, gold buying ect..)
Only buying silk from joymax.

NOT-Legit

Doing anything other than the above.

Wow, look at that. The first post in the thread, and someone is already pointing fingers, trying to see if someone else bots... His post had NOTHING to do with him being legit or not. So why turn it onto him...
