I'm not quite sure. I'm older than most of you people, and I kinda retired from the whole relationship thing quite a few years ago. I occasionally hooked up with some guy or girl for sex (yes, I'm cool like that ), but no relationships at all. And I had told myself I would never fall for someone on the internet.

Well.

I guess you can figure it out for yourselves. A friend of mine told me to join Gaia so I could support her in the Extended Discussion forum (i.e. the only part of Gaia that doesn't totally suck), so I did. And of course I found a girl that was completely amazing. We started chatting and we liked each other from the start, but I never thought that she would ever be interested in me, since I'm quite a lot older than her, but I was happy just being her friend, because she was so amazing, and she made me think about things in completely new and interesting ways.

Anyway...after talking to her extensively for about nine months, she said she thought she was in love with me. And that was pretty much it. I wasn't going to miss this opportunity. So for two months after that I called her just about every day, sometimes several times a day, and we talked for hours ($300 phone bill for those two months, wooot! xD). Then she started getting a bit worried, saying we didn't have anything in common, things like that...and she got drunk, slept with someone else and broke up with me.

She regretted it and said she still loved me and all that, and now I don't really know where we stand. She has some problems she needs to deal with, but I'm trying to be there for her every step of the way. I do plan on going to visit her, to see if we hit it off as great IRL as we do online and on the phone. I hope we do, because in my 30 years she's - from what I can tell - THE most amazing girl I've ever known.

Did you ever see each other in real life or on a webcam ? Otherwise you could possibly be in for quite a shock..

Haha, of course we know what the other person looks liks. I've known her for well over a year now, and she takes pictures of herself all the time and sends them to me and I save them all because she's so cute. xD But it wasn't her looks that caught my attention, it was her views and ideas and creativity.

I haven't seen her IRL yet, but like I said I plan on visiting her. I live in Europe, she lives in the US, so I'm trying not to get my hopes up, but we'll see what happens.
