Once you have researched glass, if you click on the academy and scroll to the bottom, it will tell you you can spend a certain amount of crystal immediately jump to the end of the current research. Its about 3k crystal per 12 hours.

doesnt do anything yet, but it allows you to research other things, like getting Gyrocopters.

yea, well what actually trice meant was that in the future revisions/versions of the game one would be able to take over and occupy enemy towns and claim them as your own...right now all you can do is pillage and attack to cripple your enemy's economy and army...
btw, been away for a coupla days and imma wondering what happened to the alliance thread (in all probability imma one of those who didn't read the memo huh? )...

Just visited my research trees and am now doing the same, theres nothing past Gyros in the science tree that I would want to get before steamies.
