A Hegemon of Earth

Hmm, what else would you need to think about? You can wonder what's out there in space and you've still got imagination...

The factions will eventually fight, hopefully with words, and end it and a leader will be chosen. It's not like they'll be in a conflict forever. I'm just wondering, if this is a plausible idea for our society. I mean, eventually it will have to happen, and a hegemon will emerge, I'm just confused now about how far away in time will it be...

Religious ~ "For his hand has laid judgment" ~ Fanatical leader.
Intellectual ~ "In the name of Science" ~ Cold Leader.
Communist ~ "Hive Mind" ~ Cunning Leader.
Environmental ~ "Mother Earth" Nurturing leader.
Economic ~ "Capitalism" Aggressive Leader.
Militaristic ~ "For honor is found on the battlefield" ~ Aggressive Leader.

When factions emerge you can only expect extremes. When people who are like minded go into a room they come out as Extremist. If a leader were to take advantage of this...

Sorry about ignoring your previous comment Barotix, but I agree with it. Another thing though, I don't think a hegemon will emerge for a long time. The majority of us are still working on making advancements to stop disease, global warming, etc. As soon as safety is assured, people will begin to look ahead. I'm sure people, such as ourselves, have already explored the idea and are ahead of the time, but for the people that can only see what's ahead of them, there will come a time when even they will realize such a goal. As the world comes together on such a debate, some compromise will come, whether it was forced or not.

Summary: Wars will stop if you remove aggressive males from society and have matriarchal rule. This can lead to "world peace". Personally; being an aggressive male, I disagree and believe that as long as people are not equal one rule is impossible. Since true equality is impossible one ruler to rule them all is ruled out.

Well it being in Chinese is coincidence because a lot of movies on StC are in Chinese but the general message is the same.

Money will help you through life, but it does not buy a feeling of happiness. A family and vacations are very stereotypical ideals. Maybe you will be content with them, maybe you will not. I see that you can be satisfied with just that, but there's always more to do out there.

yes money will bring my happiness, cuz it will buy things that make me happy. Reproduce, thats the main point of humans, to keep this race going. Why the hell would i need to strive for power when im happy the way thing is right now?

btw i would never try to rule the world, cuz ruling the world is gona cause a lot of death because the world will never agree on one ruler. Therefore ruling the world means u gota take out the people that oppose you, or command people to take them out.

Money will buy you material possessions that can instill a false sense of happiness, a part time ecstasy, but besides that, you don't gain anything from it. Unless of course, your money is buying you women, but that's just kinda shallow.

Reproduce? We're doing fine right now, we're already at the top of the food chain. When security is insured and competition is wiped out, a strive to understand life and where the world is ultimately heading occurs.

What's your definition of happiness? How are things right now?

I think I've already mentioned my ideas on world domination and a dictator in previous posts. Prove to me that it is not possible to eventually lead by dictatorship, even if it does not last forever.

well that's the prob isn't it? nothing's permanent. history shows that dictatorship can be achieved on a limited timescale. ur hegemon of earth might happen, but when it'll collapse just like every governing body has.

money doesn't directly give happiness, true. but w/o the need to worry about earning/saving money, u'll have the ability to do and buy all the things u wanted. it will be a huge barrier that u'll have eliminated. so it gives u the oppurtunity to become even more happy and satisfied.
