In England and the rest of the world that speaks English, it's colour.
In the US, it's color.

I use color.

I think it's the US that can't get with the rest of the world.

I write in Canadian. I use british variants for most spelling. There are certain words (eg: realize) that I spell with a Zed, as well as words that I spell with a C instead of an S.

Centre, Colour, Valour, Honour; and Realize, Tranquilize, Practice.

^ I find this to be the most accepted Canadian dialect; but, when I write for a social studies/humanities class, professionally, or formally I use british variants only.

Heh my sarcasm must be hard to detect. Anyway I agree. We should also switch over to metric already.

It takes less than half a second, and dropping letters in other words makes you look like an idiot. When you write, people can't see your facial expressions or body language; what you write is taken literal and when you write like an idiot you're interpreted as an idiot.

Example:
*Srsly gaiz i noe wut im talkin bout imma collage student
*Seriously guys, I know what i'm talking about; i'm a college student.

Well what it comes down to is which came first...and thats colour, the American
spelling (like most American words) has changed over the years and become something
different, something not right.

I was taught that it's colour.

The teacher would deduct marks if we wrote color in an essay.

Colour FTW, you silly Americans.

So I guess the way the English language has evolved, and common law, is garbage too? Stupid Brits and their liberal systems of language and law. I guess you must be pissed that William the Conqueror fucked with your pure English and turned you into a broken-french speaking pastry.
