Well Amelie im a big can of the old indy movies, i remember watching temple of doom and seeing him rip that guys heart out, gives me chest pains everytime i think of it. So what didn't you like about this movie, I can understand the Alien thing being a bit far-fetched and taking about from indiana jones historical roots (like searching for the holy f*cking grail or the Ark, just awesome) and overall it felt a bit PG compared to the others.

That being said I don't think this was supposed to be better than the others, i think its a new indy adventure for a new generation and i think if ppl ended up liking this one it'll only make them go back and appreciate the older ones even more. Still as far as movies go it was pretty good and i'd pay to see it again, which is a rare thing for me. I think if you were going into expecting the old indy stuff you'll find a good mix of old and new but it definitely shouldn't take away from the experience.


So what exactly didn't you like about it.

Amelie, would you mind actually saying why it's bad? the reason people think people like you are narrow minded is because you say "oh, this is bad", but you don't say why. All we want is a reason, you should give it to us.

I thought it was a great movie! It certainly was different than the other indie movies, but in my opinion, it was an even trade off. In the other movies, at the time, I'm sure they were great because the stories are all really good. But when I watched them, I already had seen way more intense plot lines, so though they were good, they weren't THAT amazing. This story sacrificed a little story for a lot more action. I think that's probably why the beginning song is A Little Less Conversation.

I think it was a great movie, and those who are saying it's bad, maybe there's some sort of thing I just don't get because I didn't see the older ones when they first came out, but I'd say this movie is definately worth the watching.

it has nothing to do with how believeable aliens are. The supernatural stuff in indian jones has always been religious/mythical stuff, thats just what its all about. Fans were expecting more of that.

Also, the nuclear explosion scene is just totally unbelievable, and the scene with the kid suddenly swinging through the jungle like hes been doing it all his life. Now you cant chuck the "god melting nazis" arguement at that, the supernatural stuff in the films has nothing to do with indian, he dosnt have super powers.

SOME of this film would be ok IF it wasnt indian jones, it would work as a stand alone film or maybe as part of another series of films (just change characters of course) but it just dosnt work with indy.

Also, whats with indy helping the enemy all the time, i kept thinking he was gonna lead them to a trap or work out some master plan like he probably would have in one of the old ones but he just kept on helping them until someone else or some event came along to change the course of events

Well because they have Marion, Mutt and that old professor guy and they will kill
them if he doesnt help. Hes made to, remember Raiders of the Lost ark, when he doesnt
blow up the ark and instead lets the Nazi do their doomed ceremony at the end...or
even last crusade where he leads the Nazi to the grail.

i would like to add the characters were really lame, even the same Indy. I feel bad for Kate Blanchet (spell?) one of my favorite actresses, acting like she did and being surrounded by a lot of LAME characters; without depth.

It didn't seem that way because before you said that nobody should see it, but now you're saying that you'd let them see it.
I think innovacious had some good points though. You said how epic the last ones were, ok, but I'd say this one has the same "epicness" factor, it's just difference, and it's the difference you don't like. But that's ok, I don't like it when things are changed which were perfect in the first place. So I get it.
