You're not losing any money there, since with every marble you mine, you lose out on 8 gold. But it's not great, either. You could've gotten a lot more. There are people around me buying marble for 30-40 gold a piece.

k, ill try to give people as good a sulphur:wood ratio i can, probably 1:3 or 1:4 (which seems to be the general price), until the colony is properly on its feet when i can give like 1:2.5 (better than normal trading)

Oh, and I found something else about the spies - I still can't train another spy (unless I raise the level of my hideout)

It's a common bug, but there's an easy workaround. Find a big city somewhere near you, but preferably not on the same island. Send a spy there. WHILE THAT SPY IS IN TRANSIT, you should be able to train spies, up to the level of the hideout. Once your spy arrives, just wait until the detection risk drops back down to 5%, and then withdraw the spy.

It's a pain, and there's always the risk that the spy you send out will get lost while entering or being withdrawn from the target city, but it will give you a chance to train replacements. The reason you don't want to select a city on your own island is because the transit time is so short (5 minutes) that you only have time to train 1 new spy. If you send a spy to a city farther away, the increased transit time should give you an opportunity to recruit a full complement for your hideout.

first colony : Nova Ithica - lvl 3 for now..marble (srf island)

now just need to get a wine island and a glass one and im done

I think the other cities on the islands are safe as well.

Hm. I'm thinking about retiring the majority of my army and building up a fleet. I have a ridiculously sized army, IMO, and I think that a fleet would work out much better. It seems that no one has a fleet. And with a fleet, I can blockade ports and force people to surrender among other things.

Good idea / bad idea?
