Solo DoS Attacks FTL ¬_¬
Reasons why it wont work
A. Cant orgonize for people to attack at the same time
B. Solo Attacks and there firewall will block ur IP Address if it set correctly.
C. If there using linux then u cant DoS them
3 Holes in plan = FAIL!!!

Re: DoS attack?
Takes at least 30 comps minimum:p And most people here wouldnt be willing to do that. Only feasible way to stop gold selling companies is run 24/7 bot traps at jangan and dw from now on. As they ban gold bots all the remade accounts will stay in the cities. But then there aren't enough legits to do that. Maybe in Venus, but its still hella hard to keep it going nonstop.

Re: DoS attack?
uhmm, okey, i'll test on SRF first and see if it works
Edit: 1 more question. Do i have to open IE and browse the page, or just download a file from the site, is enough to decrease the bandwidth?

Re: DoS attack?
As usual you post something only a month after someone else posted the same idea: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=87138 and I'm also going to quote what Drew_Benton said in that topic because it points out some of the glaring flaws in any type of DoS attack.
Our stance on that thread is largely the same for this thread as well, in that although we would like to see an end to these gold botting companies and sites, these DoS attack methods aren't a workable solution to the problem. We cannot endorse such a script that you're proposing and if you have any more questions feel free to pm the moderation team.

Drew_Benton wrote:Sure, you could try to start your little revolution and get people doing this against bot sites and gold selling sites but have you ever considered what would happen if they ALL did the same back to SRF? Do you have any idea how many people would be more willing to "LEGALLY" take down SRF or any site that suggested such practices because it supported the idea that it could raise the bot and gold prices of thousands of users by causing a DOS attack?
There is a reason why sites don't promote this kind of behavior or the types of behavior that would interfere with the operations or business of another large site. Retaliation. That is why SRF stays to itself as 0x33 stays to itself, as Bot369, Bot258, Botsmall all keep to themselves. No one wants to start a little "virtual war" because in the long run, no one wins except with the person with the most resources. And considering that the bot sites are quite a large business with plenty of money to go around, I'm sure they could fix whatever little problems you are trying to give them they so choose.
Anyways, the staff of SRF are smart people. They wouldn't publicly accept and support such actions to be taken out against anyone. For those very reasons I mentioned above. http://www.silkroadforums.com is SRF's territory. They can do whatever they want here and do. They want to provide a nice clean site for people who choose to morally and rule-abidingly play the game. That's all. Anything outside of that though, that's how people get into real trouble trying to force your ideas on other people.
You can argue this is "legal" all you want but the matter of the fact is that the sites you are suggesting attacking are business sites and unless you are a competing business trying to run out that business site, you won't be doing any good. You can argue all you want against the morality of such sites existing but they have the same right to operate and do business as any other site. Try to pull this "legal" activity on a .GOV site and see how legal it really is
Anyways, I digress
