Cannot remember the name of this book/author.

I remember i was told that there was a book that some guy wrote along time ago and he predicted things were going to happen, does anyone know this guys name or the name of the book?

One thing in the book was that two metal birds were going to crash into two famous statues.

I tried google but couldnt find it >_>
