dom, I know the basics of economics. What I am saying is nightbloom is wrong. Venus has a shitload of gold buyers. Just like every server. Sorry, but the gold companies dont get economics either I guess. But the numbers dont lie. Some of the highest selling is going on in mercury/pluto/saturn/and some of the other servers I named. So following that lead one would come to the conclusion that venus is right there with them, seeing as how the prices are around the same. Thats all.

I don't play SRO, I have no idea which servers have higher supply or demand - or the prices for gold. What I was talking about, is how:

Dom's right. With high demand it means that you can sell for ridiculous prices, with low demand you're lucky if you can find anyone who wants to buy it therefore prices are lowered. uBeR needs to take an Economics class...

If demand is low business will lower its prices to sell its goods. Again, untill demand rises (because of lower prices) and demand = supply. Note: this is the theoretical perfect market model which doesn't work 100% in reality.

Demand is high, prices will lower? Think of it.
Same way the other way around: demand is low, prices will rise? Ofcourse not.

The only reason i can see for goldcompanies to lower their prices while demand > supply, is market penetration, which i doubt, because #1 objective of short existing goldcompanies is to make as much as profit as possible.

Xian 4.29$ per 10m just sold their last stock of 400m(one person<<<omg)

Taken from one of the popular gold sellers. That info right there tells me that the most gold out of the three servers is bought in mercury. You dont have to know economics to figure that out. Took awhile cause i had to do it over the phone. But that is also the trend with other sites as well. Mercury is in the lower priced end, venus in the middle, Xian closer to the higher priced.

Fly, it means they are constantly running out as fast as the gold comes in. Anyone here can see that looking at the numbers. It means Xian has less buyers, and venus has more, thats all. What you just said proves that venus has some of the biggest gold buying population. You said your 600m showed there were many gold bots. Its sad that Venusians buy so much that TPL cant even keep up with gold stock..

I'm not talking about SRO, reread what I wrote. I'm talking about pure economic theory.

The idea that prices will rise even with a demand drop is absurd. Look at the aggregate demand curve, it will slide down the aggregate supply curve and result in lower prices. The reason i'm only talking about theory and not practice, is because of:

And just to add to the thread: i'm pretty sure the same prices aren't caused by demand, but rather supply. It only makes sense that on a server with less goldbuyers, they don't farm as much gold and sell it for the same price. Why would they waste resources on a server that buys less gold, when they can tack it onto a more profitable server.
