possible solutions for many of ISROs problems? (serious post

Post by Disconn3cted »

Powerlevling

* when someone in the party is 11 levels over the mobs being killed no one in the party will receive ANY exp (this won't prevent all powerleveling but it would stop being from going 1-60 in a month without playing

Gold Bots

*reduce number of simultaneous connections to the server from 30 to 10-15

*continue banning them regularly as usual

*all accounts must be verified by email before you are allowed to play, the email arrives at a random time in the next 24 hours to prevent the process from becoming automated

Player Bots

*When a silk buying bot is found prevent the player from purchasing more silk for the next 45 days (without them knowing of course), when the 45 days are up they will no longer be able to charge back and joymax can ban them

what do you think?

1# problem= Money. money is needed to make such drastic changes. And money is something that joymax can just give away. 9 Go away people who think joymax sells gold or support bots)

money isn't needed for these kinds of changes, all they are doing is changing the system and i really hope that second comment wasn't directed at me

I really like this idea, it would be a win-win situation

Gm wouldn't do any of those things because they already get tons of money for doing nothing, so why would they work harder to get the same amount of money

that's not true, when players take longer to level up they buy more silk so joymax would make more money

Many options have been suggested, but hard to do when JM keeps on just doing ban after ban, instead of finding a way to prevent it in the first place for bots.

I do Like the Idea about requiring some email verification, also not being able to log in for 24 hours.

What needs to be done, is sites need sued like Blizzard did. JM wants money right, so SUE SOMEBODY

EDIT: I got an Idea, Each time someone opens a NPC store, they need to do some kind of confirmation, however I'm not sure what considering almost everthing can be macroed nowadays :( Anyone else got a good confirmation method?

It's really not that complicated: most people bot because they get away with it. If Joymax would start a new policy of 1 week, 1 month, lifetime ban 3 strikes you're out policy, they'd get rid of 95%+ of the player bots in an instant, without massive chargebacks. If they did the same to gold BUYERS the gold market would collapse, and those gold bots and town spammers would be gone very quickly.

It's not the solution that's the problem. It's the will to actually do something. I blame Joymax management for that.

As for technological solutions: forget it, it can't be done.

let's see what happens when JM continues with their regular bans on gold bots. that will free up a lot of server space. JM may have found a way of screening multiple connections or clientless. once they kill those, it's really up to them in detecting and handling player bots (supposing they arent using the clientless ones like the goldbots) and keeping healthy profits.

Last thing joymax wants right now is to ban silk buying bots in my opinion, Aion is coming out, theres a lot of hype about it, 0x33 is switching to an Aion project etc.

If they really wanted to ban them they would have done it ages ago. They don't go around looking for goldbots to ban them, they detect them, errors in packets etc.

Since when powerleveling has been a problem?

The problem is bots doing pwlvl 24h/24

Whats wrong with high lvls helping friends/guildies lvling faster?
And now at 90 cap powerfarming has never been more essential.

So if you can get rid of the players bots, you also solve hardcore powerlvl, since i doubt many legits would spend that much time killing low lvl mobs.

The problem is players being powerlvl'd all the way to 8D without every playing, there are too many 8D and 9D players so the prices are insane. Go to any city besides hotan and there are almost no players because everyone 7,8,and 9D from powerlvl. Since they never lvl'd themselves they need to buy gold for the expensive equips and that means more bots. I never see any parties in old servers below lvl 6X and its bothering me, I can see the end ISRO coming soon.

Imo this is more related to the fact that Isro doesnt get new players because of server traffic.

People getting powerleved all the way from Lv1 to Lv7X-8X are usually players who already own some high lvl chars.

So yeah i think hardcore pwlvl is only a side effect of botting.

Just like buying gold is a side effect of gold bots...

Get rid of both kind of botting and gold buying/hardcore pwlvl is gone as well.

If you eliminate the bots, you'll eliminate like 60-70% of the plvl activity on the whole server. Perhaps even more.

its true that removing bots would stop powerlvl but thats too hard and takes more time than a simple exp penalty

You gave a solution for it in your first post and now you say it's too hard. Plvling is a part of the game and should not be stopped.
