It is not true that a wizard in Robe makes more damage than a wizard in Light Armor. I would go for Light armor because of the cleric passives (Charity) which at 90 Cap give:

Charity:

STR 13 Increase
INT 13 Increase

Mag. Defense 62 Increase
Mag. Defense 100 Increase

All of which Increase the potential of your Force, Mental, Body and Soul Deity skills when Cleric rod is Equipped.

Aswell as giving you 50% chance to resist primary status effects such as Burn which are in your level.

Glory & Favor Armor

Which give Phy defense 117 increase and Mag defense 212 increase.

These will increase YOUR defense power when Cleric rod is Equipped.

Yeah go with light armor ... it might look uglier but ...

Cleric
-Robes
Physical - 5xx
Magical - 13xx

-Light Armor:
Physical - 7xx
Magical - 14xx

Wizard
Robes:
Physical - 3xx
Magical - 13xx

Light Armor:
Physical - 5xx
Magical - 10xx

Those are mine stats ... Lv.68 Cleric / Wizard ... and I perfer Light Armor big time ...

And probably that is the reason why so many wizard/clerics go for Robe. :x I always wondered... what a waste.

The reason most wizard/cleric choose robes is because the cleric passives are only in effect if the cleric rod is equipped. Why not stay with robes for their mana consumption and speed bonuses? Unless you're going to actually being playing a cleric in a party, stick with robes.

Passive defense + defense from your shield + defense of the buffs you can give to yourself while having rod out.. mix that up with some absolute dmg and healing orbit.. there is your ultimate pure INT killer.

Eventhough Light Armor might seem useless while you have your staff out, trust me.. it is useful when you are a cleric.

In my eyes Light Armor passives > 10% more Speed and Mp consumption reduce and the Faith passives.
