hmm, well I would rather have that than having it blocked. Maybe uninstalling AVG, then reinstalling, so ith as a new virus list.... I dont know anymore, I need help from someone who really knows what they are doing.

I still dont get it.Why is it happening 2day when yesterday it was just fine.Maybe checking the official silkroad forums u can find ppl with these same problems am sure of it.

oh its happening to others, and all of them also point to AVG. I think AVG might have updated today

AVG's virus database has been updated today, and that's what is keeping you from uninstalling. I'm getting it too and if i'm right this is whats happening:
- The installation is just fine for the first 98%
- SRO_Client is being installed as one of the last items
- AVG detects the virus, aborts the installation and leaves you with nothing.

I had the same and was like wtf! Then i opened the Silkroad folder while it was installing, got the popup warning from AVG, clicked heal and watched the folder getting emptied.
So the installation is aborted because of the virus, that's what's keeping us from installing sro.

I've downloaded my client from Gamershell btw

well on d official forums some guy says 2 Crtl+Alt+Del and end all the processes with avg in them and install sro then but didnt work 4 me.

I know if you turn of AVG, you can get in, but thats stupid

I am in the same boat. Got the trojan warning - turned avg off - tried to start and got an error. Uninstalled client now goes through the whole install and right at the end poof gone the whole folder and everything. It isn't the client because I dl'd 3 versions tried them all. Made folders other than the default program files/silkroad still failed, tried it on my second harddrive failed.

Running a virus scan now but I suspect it is avg causing the install to fail.

ive been playing sro for a long time, when they just came out (idk if this was a bug or somthing.. xD) with the 80 cap everyone i know got a trojan horse. xD it was easy to get rid of tho. i havn't heard of any new viruses comiing out of gaymax tho.

Uninstall AVG and get kaskerspy or something. You really don't need an antivirus if you know what your downloading and if you dont watch pron your ok lol

I think they mean only the p2p download, but i don't know whether that helps because if i understand p2p correctly you download from other users pc's, so you still get an infected client.

i found that news on official site as well this morning and i dont feel very comfortable since i read it.

what should we do? i told my kaspersky that file isnt a trojan, now JM is telling us there is a trojan, so what the heck is goin on here now
