Nice dogs though, there used to be one waddling around at work and he was so sweet. Called Chuck, we all called him Chucky. The owner had another dog, a smaller black one, named Norris. Took me years before I got the joke.

Its not lacking a shadow.. that is simply the shadow of the dog's lifted paw. (although you cant really tell that its a paw at first, because you cant really tell the head from the shadow to give you an idea of what everything is, from the angle of the shadow.)

You can see the horse on the left with it's hoof lifted has a similar shape to the dog's.

but the people look under 5'4'' and the horse looks young anyway.. so i doubt the dog is really as big as it might appear.
