That's because the pronouncer doesn't recognise it as a real word. It's just going to pronounce it as charcoal because anything beginning with ch (with a few exceptions like character) is pronounced like Charmander/Charcoal/Chump/Jackie Chan.

Correct way to say it is like you would say Character just without the -aracter.
