HALP need a new series

So I'm looking for a new serie to watch during the hollidays cause that's what I enjoy most when I'm behind the computer.
I've tried a lot of series and I just can't find a new one that owns equally as hard or harder as the previous ones I've watched.

The one's I have already watched or am currently watching are:
-Lost
-Prison Break
-Heroes
-24
-Boston Legal
-Dirty sexy money
-Bones
-CSI (who doesn't?)

And a whole lot others but I'm just can't remember atm.
So does anyone know a nice series which fit well in that list? (no anime please)

Dexter (2 seasons, 12 episodes per season, it's amazing)
House (nearing the end of season 3)
The Shield (haven't seen this one myself, but I want to)

I watched the first episode of Dexter and I enjoyed it, gonna make myself a nice pot of tea tomorrow and buy some liquorice wood and I'm good to go :-)

I Used to watch X-Files But it got boring after a while....

As for Dexter...I saw the first episode and was liek wtf?...
I wanted to watch more of it but i dun know what channel its on lol...
Just to get this strait is he some sort of murderer???

it's on showtime, is sort of a murderer, he goes into that a LOT. the first season is basicly about his past.

yeah I just found out the series are based on books, I am definitely gonna read one of those for school.
I'm already at episode 5 :-)
