Because they could solve the problem in a week if they wanted to. All it takes is ONE active GM who bans bots on sight. I could have banned 200 gold bots in an hour today, if I was a GM. The people who make gold bots would soon grow tired of having to make new ones every day and not getting any gold. And everyone knows where the player bots are, it's not hard to ban them either. I doubt they'd want to pay money for their bot and silk just to be banned time and time again.

It's SO easy to solve this problem, they just don't want to.

If u are a customer, u go in a store to buy a sandwitch to eat. A police is standing at your left, and a stealer is standing at the police's left. So the sandwitch seller is busy with selling sandwitch to other ppl. The stealer steal a sandwitch in front of the police's eyes, but the police does nothing. Who to blame?

I will use the example i used last time.

A man j walks down the street and gets hit by a car. He then tries to sue the police for not taking a greater stand against j walkers which would of prevented his accident.

People need to take responsibilities and stop blaming a lack of authority for their actions.

Someone in this thread it could be solved in a week, it could of never begun as well. People need to step up and do the right thing, do what venus has done, what odin has done and what hera is attempting.

Accident is unevitable. Why do u compare something accidently happened a smt is done in purpose?
If the police have full time to stop the car then he should do it. Because his job is to keep the world to be better. He has the responsibilty to save ppl, stop illegal, bad actions as well as Joymax. He is paid by the government when he can fullfill what he needs to do, not just stading in a place and watch someone get hit by the car.
Players paid JM, support JM. Therefore, JM has the responsibilty to return players a favor.

Now stay with me for a second here.

If JM started a new and radical plan that got rid of all gold bots and player bots and it worked, the legits would be happy. Thy would be doing them a favor. For us legit people at srf that is what we want.

But heres the flip side.

The people who botted, brought gold and supported JM have now lost their accounts. They supported JM and now they are banned. Now they have been committing an illegal act, thats obvious and from a justice stand point they should be banned. Although from a consumer point of view the now banned players would be mad and quit the game.

Now JM from a company point of view wants to keep its players satisfied and playing. Though we dont know the %'s, the majority of JM's paying clients do break the ToS. From a business stand point they will let them stay to make their clients happy.

Now whos fault is this problem we have? JM's for making its majority of consumers happy, or the players for ruining the game to begin with?

That is how i see this issue Silo. Your points are worthy points, im not denying that. This is simply how i see it.

U said that because u didnt see the best way to solve the problem. For us, legits, bots are bots. But among the bots, i can differenciate 3 types of bots:
- gold bot: never buy silk
- player bot buy silk
- player bot not buy silk

Easy problem. What the best way to keep 3 sides happy? Ban gold bot and player bot not buy silk
- no more traffic, kser => all happy
- no more player bot no buy silk => less server slot taken, JM doesnt lose money

And eventually some modification:
- increase exp rate 2x (since player bots are lazy)
- increase dropt rate 2x (since player bots are thirst for gold and items)
- increase item mall price 50%, to compensate the loss of PT

=> all are happy and JM doesnt lose money, and eventually could call the legits back to the game so more money for JM

1) How aboutttt!! We take care of the problems by ourself??? Surely, whining and groaning doesn't work (as we saw this didn't work for couple of years). And Joymax did kinda banned some bot on March, ok so they kinda did what they suppose to do. But you all know it's not working!!! So, LET'S step forward for OUR own enjoyment! But this is gonna require a hell lot of a teamwork to pull it off...simply all the legit guilds set up a Bot killing hours for themself. Let's say we have min at least 24 guilds that have lvl 80 player that can spawn lvl 72 thief/player Bow NPC with lightening splash. Stand on West gate of Hotan or West Gate of DW-->spend 50 hp pot for an hour--->after an hour the next guild player takes it from there--> do this for at least a week---> I'm sure the result can be satisfying.

2) I suppose Joymax didn't know the BOT problem could occur in the future, when they first made the game, thus didn't do much of a plan to stop it. BUT here's the MAJOR PROBLEM!!! The game Silkroad simply don't give enough gold support to it's player <--- yeah you never noticed this did ya? You, first start the game in Jangan or Cons, and you start with 0 gold! The game mentioned that the game allows you to freely enjoy the history of Silkroad but they don't give enough gold!!! I mean this is why people buy gold! Why not like

at lvl 10 give 100k gold
at lvl 20 give 200k gold
at lvl 30 give 500k gold

These simple things could just fix the gold problem which started all this disaster! Hehehe...i know you're saying, 'Then people just make a char and transfer their gold to the main accoun!' Well buddy, lvl a char to lvl 10 and get a 100k gold <--- i say that's pointless, either you plvl or go into taxi, i'm sure it will cost more than 100k. So, here's my point of view. Don't judge it too much cuz it is my opinion and i hope it has told something that you may never realized...or not =P

Not to offend you or something but just the No Traffic can cover all our asses. I'm sticking with the idea that Silkroad is Free online MMORPG, which is fulls of bots and money sucking game now. Well, i can see how ppl can just spend a few $ for their enjoyment on Online Game but still it does say FREE MMORPG! If you want to have a collection of every class of hero in Silkroad, yeah you can start off with buying premium. I'm lvl 62 and it took me a month, let's say it's gonna take me another month to reach lvl 80. Making me buy that premium would take me 1 month to reach lvl 80? Awww cmon i'm sure that won't be fun =( some set of clothes are fun to wear and i enjoy grinding on ong with my fellow low lvl mates and i enjoy getting killed by giant mob who accidently spawned right on top of me =(. This is what the game is about i believe, not to reach lvl 80 quick and pwn in PvP. Still, x2 xp and x2 drop rate <-- Hell yeah that would just rock!

Let me say first of all your post does make sense but i see only 2 errors. The first has to do with this quote. Im no economist, i admit that. But if we do ban gold bots, what would be the impact on the sro economy? For newer servers this isn't as bad as a problem but wouldn't there be negative impacts to the older servers?

For people who buy gold and spend a lot of money on the game, im sure it wouldn't phase them. But for your average player this would be a terrible thing. atm you can get a silver prem + a monkey revival clock for $20. I think personally thats a reasonable amount to spend on the game and spending anymore than that is just silly, why not go play a p2p mmo if u are willing to spend more?

Now with the 50% increase that could really turn off a lot of players buying silk. I know if joymax suddenly increased silk by 50% i would be hesitant about buying it, thats a lot more money. Sure the customer service would be better but a p2p mmo would be cheaper and probably more fun as well. Now when you have people spending 400 + silk a week ( pt plus + monkey + sp ticket + expendables ) and they now have to spend an extra $20+ per month to do it, im sure they will think twice about buying it.

Though the above really is dependent upon the individual person i suppose.

Apart from those two things i made comment on, your ideas do make sense. With that said i still think we shouldn't blame joymax for whats happened, thats something my opinion wont change on. Though as a form of solution your idea seems to have credibility. Sure we still have the problem of player bots ( which really is a huge issue that a lot of people will still abuse Jm about ), but as a way of balancing better customer service with JM's business needs it seems to work in theory.

Answer1: The impact to the economy: not a big deal, prices will drop to normal as it's supposed to be like in the beginning, eveyone will be able to afford decent item, gear...

Answer2: Nowaday, to play a so called free game, u need to spend at least $16 for a silver premium monthly in order to connect => the game is not free. So to solve this problem u only need to increase GT cost as much as PT. Yet, there are still ppl who buy GT but has to waste 3 hours daily for the connection. So why not use this time waste for smt better? As we all know the famous equation time = money so why not converting the time wasted to money wasted? Spend a bit more money in GT, u'll have a pleasant game.
If atm, someone is willing to spend $20, then after the change of traffic, no one oblige him to buy more.


No, we shouldnt blame JM for what happened, but we blame them for the other thing: no responsibility. We, legit, support them by buying silk. We dont Farking care what they do, we dont care how they do to make both sides, bot and legit, happy. The only thing we care is they have the responsibility to make us happy.

I think all would be happy if JM just sold gold themselves at the same price the bots sell it. All the kids who can't do trades or grind their gold alone would still be able to waste their daddy's money on it. Though those who do want to grind alone won't be KS'd by the million bots that people and companies run. JM would earn a buttload of money. Gold companies will lose their business. Everyone's happy.

We did. Avalon made Venus and a lot of the legits came to help and everyday we all do things to hamper, or at the very least inconvenience, botters.

The downside is every botter in SRF calls you a Nazi and blames you for everytime they didnt get their way... oh yeah and SG is killing the forum by banning retards.

This is what do gotta do, fight back OURSELVES using the weapons we have at our disposal. We can ban ppl in game, but we do a LOT.

Atleast just keep banning the gold bots...they're the one and foremost biggest problem in this game right now bcuz there is SOO many and too many. And as well as the town spammers. The gold bots are the ones who are taking all the items and just selling them in town...where a regular user could have used it. The MAIN reason, and I'm sure everyone knows this, JM doesn't ban most botters is because JM is afraid to be charged back buy the botters who have bought silk. That's just making them lose money, which in fact, would slowly but surely close the game down. And then it eventually probably wouldn't be a free game anymore.
