Character just standing still.

My character sometimes just stay in one spot not moving, i click move, use skill but nothing, he just stands there but the rest of the world can move.It's very frustrating cause the mobs can hit me and i can't do anything about it and in the end i end up dead and i can't ress back to town or be ress. I either reboot the cpu or press ctrl,alt,del. Anyone knows what is the problem or any solution in fixing it? Somehow i can't stand it already so i decided to post here see if anyone can help me.

i had this problem on alps, but it happened to everyone at the same time, i died a total of 4 times lol while i was running around in chi'in tomb, right after i died it would say disconnected from server, so id log in again to find me in the same place i was when i logged in the first time.... so i guess i cant complain

as far as i know its a server problem... they fixed it now as far as i know

Happens to me about 4-5 times a day, i think its my ISP though , are you on AOL?

I doubt it's the ISP; I have a very fast connection myself, and no problem in any other game or program, yet this exact problem has happened to me several times in the last weeks. 2nd problem is: it also kills my wolf.

well do u log back in and your back alive? or u just back in town? if u back in town that sucks cause u have to pay for your wolfie to be back on his feet

I find myself in town, and spending a few minutes to rant and rave over citywide chat or using a few globals to vent my anger. Then I just set up a stall, and increase my fortune.

Well, everytime that happens i faster click Ctrl,Alt,Del. That way when i log back in my guy will still be alive. It's only very frustrating when there's an equipment in the floor and you can't pick it up cause that bug kicks in, and when you get back in somebody already took it......................or the monkeys.........it's always those monkeys......lol =_=;;

Well......just hope it will not happen at the most exciting moment.......for example when fighting uniques etc........cause if so i will do this to myself---> :banghead:

Ok....so i did a little test. I use my bro cpu and play silkroad and didn't encounter this problem but when i play on my cpu i will encounter it (sometimes) and my cpu is much more laggy then my brother's one.

My specs-

Windows XP
AMD Athlon 64 3000+
1.25 GB RAM
1.81 GHz
Geforce 7800 GTX

i'm gonna format my cpu but before i do i wanna know if anyone got any suggestion on whats causing it i would really appreciate it.

I have a p.o.s. comp heres my specs.

Windows XP
Pentium 3 866Mhz
256MB Ram
Radeon 9550 w/256MB

And I play fine, I can always connect when I want to (2-3pm est to 4am est)

I never get disconnected from the server once I'm in the game. but I do get a bunch of lag when I go near the pvpers outside the towns and that only lasts for 2 - 3 seconds, other than that I'm lag free.

[edit] I also have 10mb/s broadband ^_^
