Anyone plays oblivion?
Anyone plays oblivion?
I just started playing and I like it. Nice graphics, though I can't play smoothly when they're all maxed, a fun gameplay. And quite a bit of freedom.
A few tips from people who played it before would be nice.
Opinions are welcome.

Lvl 8 elf archer so far.
The bad thing is you really need to level a specific way if you want to be aby good.

Re: Anyone plays oblivion?
i have a lvl 25+ somethign darkelf, custom class but basically a battle mage. The graphics are nice but i wish they would've put more effort into the destruction spells, they all look alike and only vary in power and AoE so its kinda boring after awhile.

Re: Anyone plays oblivion?
Really fun game especially with some of the, er, "cheater" mods...i.e. better mp cooldown, different monster damage (varies by level), different NPC's and skins/textures. IIRC there was even one for invincibility which wasn't all that fun.
Pretty large world for that game, although not nearly as big as some today
Hmph. I may have to reinstall that game to refresh my memory...I think I really disliked the leveling system. It seemed like you had to level the minor masteries to go up levels, not the major ones?

Re: Anyone plays oblivion?
I beat it a long time ago...no cheats. Every once and a while I get on just to murder the entire imperial city
I love murdering people in that game, so fun, then you can drag their bodies around...too bad you cant hand them from the rafters of their house

no, Oblivion isn't a MMORPG where you needto be good, it is all about fun! If you are weak you simply can change the difficulty level InGame. Also you don't need to "grind" because it is not an mmorpg so it doesn't really matter how strong you are.
To say since, the being is not or the non-being is, is wrong to say against it, the being is and the non-being is not, is right.

Re: Anyone plays oblivion?
I did play it... until I realized I was doing the same thing over and over except with different dungeons and sometimes different weapons.

Re: Anyone plays oblivion?
Ya, whats the point of playing with the same sword (mine is glass since lvl 14) till the end of the game. Its still quite good before it gets really boring. And thanks fo the spoiler, conjuration isnt one of my main skills, so I guess I wont need the scroll.

Re: Anyone plays oblivion?
I played it for 40 hours then stopped.
It was good but it lacked so much creativity. When it came to sword / weapon combat, clicking of the mouse and occasionally holding it and thats it? That was just bad. Occasionally hitting 1/2/3 to cast a spell? I expected much more from a game with so much hype about it.
For a game in which $100 was payed and i was really hoping for it to be great, it let me down a lot.
Also the map was too boring, same textures, caves / forts were all way to similar.
Stealth system failed really badly as well, just bad.
Also the game was too easy. I increased the difficulty but that just seemed silly by principal, why no incredibly difficult battles which i need a plan and tactits to master? dam all i ever did was block with my shield, attack a few times and use a healing potion and i think i only died like 2 or 3 times? Just bad.
