English sounds to me just like dutch...
I've been able to speak english fine since I was 10, and that was because of my great interest in other countries, music, and movies...
The english just flowed into me, and today I even get a 9/10 for my english oral exams...

I thought it would just translate in their head. When my parents speak filipino it turns into english in my head.

Re: what does english sound like to non-native speakers?
I'm not an English speaking country native. Yet, i am Fluent in English.
and well, English sounds pretty much the same to me
Hi, i am a non native english speaker
sounds like
Hi, i am a non native english speaker
to me

No but seriously, i think an language to a non native or at least a non fluent speaker sounds really weird. I mean, sure give me Chinese an ill be like WTF you talking about boi! But, talk to me in Portuguese/Italian/French i'll be able to communicate with you some what, since it is semi similar to Spanish.
I mean, if i was going to speak to you in Indonesian, you would be like wtf! (unless you were Malaysian or Indo)
Iya, kalo gue omong ama lu begini, lu pikir gue orang gila kan? Tapi, jangan cape deh, nanti kamu bisa mengerti apa gue bilang. ^.^
