Isnt it ironic that the ppl you mention all quit playing because of bots in the game or an inability to log in which is cause by bots in the game.

And if your problem is quality topics, why dont you start at home and start making topics that are interesting and discussion worthy?

Really if I had any passion left for this game, I would be, I don't play anymore, but I came to these forums when I first started playing, and it sucks to see them degenerate so much because some of the mods want recognition from joymax and ban the botters from here in an attempt to get a little light shed on them by the crappy company.

Some would say that the game is ruined by botters, and they could be right, but what hurts the game more, player botters that don't have time to grind 3-5 hours a day, or the gold bots that are run in the THOUSANDS?

Nightbloom you and your guild have proved that legits wtf shut down player botters at every turn, so why complain about them? you should bring the fight to the thousands of gold botters, or the atrocious customer service that joymax "provides" (if you call macroing the same message every day at the same time "providing service")?

Player botters annoy the community, but they are dealt with immediately in any sort of PvP engagement. Gold botters ruin the community by not only clogging the servers 24/7, and flooding the economy with hundreds of billions of gold that should not exist, but congesting all the best leveling spots as well.

If joymax actually did something about the gold bots instead of using them as a cushion to fill the servers to make people buy silk, they MIGHT find that the servers would be full anyways by people actually playing the game, thus bringing in much more income because of the new players buying silk.

If they shut down some of the old servers, and/or allowed a naked character migration to some of the newer servers and did something about all the goldbots, the game would most likely be much more healthy than it is now. Sure you'd have some people complaining about losing their pimped +9 full sun gear or what ever, but in the long run, it would be best for this game, because as it is now, its dying, and fast.

Avalon set out to prove that you dont HAVE to allow player bots to run the server. They are not so many and not so powerful and they do not have the right to interfere with my game.

Do you know why Odin has so few gold bots compared to the other old servers? Because it is a predominately legit server. Guess what? Legits arent the ones buying gold. Go figure! Take out the player bots and suddenly no one is buying gold and the gold bots move on to servers like Xian, mostly player bots, for their income.

Botting is a multi-layered, root of all that is evil in SRO, problem.

I wish ppl would stop trying to make getting rid of botters HARDER and start helping. Incidents like Spiral on Hera set us all back a few steps as we are trying, as a community, to drag ourselves out of the SRO dark ages! Legits are not the problem!!! We are not the bad guys!!! SRF is doing it best to help and so should the rest of you.

If you are not playing the game, why do you care who is on SRF, an SRO BB? lol If you like the ppl who were banned enough to socialize with them, get them on MSN or something. The point is, I think SRF is trying to send a message not only to botters, but even to JoyMax itself, that we care still. Maybe JM doesnt, who knows. But the legit community does.

And sure, some legits buy gold. The exception proves the rule. Most legits dont buy gold. They dont hack each other, they dont bot, they dont cheat generally. That is what in the past made legits at such a disadvantage. I know these days the rules seem to be bending and some ppl are saying that 3rd party programs and altered clients are still "legit" but we all know they arent. That is further proof of how the botting situation has permeated our community and poisoned it. I mean, it's never been easy to do the right thing. That is like a general rule of life.

I'd move to Venus and join one of the legit guilds if I actually played more often. As it is, I am really lucky if I get to play more than an hour or two a month. I can at least say that I am in a 100% legit guild on Venice because I created it and have zero members other than myself. I'd invite my wife if I could ever actually log in when she's on.

I doubt that people began to bot the moment they first downloaded the game. They probably found out how crappy joymax was and then resorted to botting..all the while continuing to pay for silk.

That's just an exaggeration. When people see a huge influence in botting, people start thinking. The promotion in this community helps with the choices.

not necessarily. Not everyone makes a thoughtful decision whether they are going to bot or not or pay silk. SRF represents a very small poopulation of the silkroad players out there. I don't think banning people here is going to stop them from contiuning to bot, but what IS effective is making older members (the ones banned) feel like shit since they can't ever be part of this community anymore. Perhaps they will regret botting.

Jstar1, this is a big forum and at the top of Google search. I'm sure the promotion in here will give people more thought. Banning people won't stop every single person from botting, but it gives an idea to the choices they have or will make. The fact remains that it helps.

I forgot why I posted this thread in the first place, and I'm too lazy to read what I wrote initially, but the result I was seeking was achieved, a lot of people emo raging and wishing death (literally) on a few people botting in an online game, I love it
