beiev it or not, nukes and other int-based skills ARE weapon-dependent. if i try a nuke w/o my spear equipped, or while it's broken, i do almost no dmg. thus it stands to reason that the higher the attack dmg of your weapon, the higher the dmg of your nuke. spear dmg > sword dmg, so that's my vote. NOTE: this is untested. other theories welcome.
however, the added defense of the shield's block ratio may help keep you alive, but there's SP you're now NOT putting into your nukes and such. hmm.

Thx IceCrash for my awesome sig :)

well, i'm going mainly lightning, but will also have some fire, ice, and force elements. Also I will have some Spear elements if i go spear / sword elements if i go sword. Right now survivability isn't too huge as with nukes i'll be able to kill anything within 1-2 hits. However if I get nuked then its a different story. I've heard alot of things, but on other forums they always say to go spear because later in the game a spear (full int) will kill a full str in one hit with the second lvl fire nuke. But with the sword, it takes two hits.

Yeah nuke them to death before they even get to you. Frost pure strengths and then keep nuking them. If your guild is in war with another guild, and there's alot of people from each side, just stay back, and relax as you nuke them with one spell after another, and for that reason, use garment. You'll consume less mp, and unless someone uses flying dragon flow on you, you don't have to worry about being hit from a distance. Also, garment gives you speed, so you'll be able to outrun them, and after that, just nuke them and then run again. They're really dead like this, because they don't even have a chance to hit you. Just stay back and nuke while your guild mates help you tank. Oh and instead of using that fire nuke spell, charge up and use wolf's thunderbolt. It hits more. Of course, there's a disadvantage of using spear and nuking. If there're two pure strengths on you, you're completely dead.
OMG! STRIKE FREEDOM! ;0

Sometimes it depends on what you have available. If you're using a middle-of-the-road sword or spear and you happen to find a really good version of the other weapon, you might want to switch for a while and see how you like it. As an int character once you have your nuke you don't really *need* to use any weapon skills anyway, just whack them with your imbue or freeze them in between nukes.

OK, I didnt fully understand that. Are saying that nuke dmg is only determend by the mag attack on the spear? And Imbue is affected by int/mag balance? So a pure str useing spear can nuke for as much dmg as an pure int(without imbue). But the imblue makes the pure int do more dmg?
Please explain because if this is true it would realy change my view on this.
Tnx
