Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword

Post by Nuklear »

If you don't already have this game get it.
The presentation, graphics and sound are all phenomenal. The only part it's lacking are the controls. Since everything but block is done on the screen it can sometimes confuse what you want to do. The biggest problems I faced were two things. When I wanted to jump, sometimes it would interpret an attack instead. When I wanted to do a charge attack, sometimes it would interpret that as an attack as well. Both somewhat minor annoyances.
The progression is also very good. Each level feels different, the difficulty goes up nicely and you feel that Ryu is really getting stronger by the different inventory you purchase or earn. My only complaint here is that the bosses are too easy. I remember NG on the Xbox, and that game kicked my Farking ass. I do like the lower difficulty better but they made the bosses too easy. The final boss, in fact, I thought was the easiest. I didn't get hit once.
There are things to unlock but they aren't worth the extra play through. What is worth it is the harder difficulty that's unlocked. Yummie.
This really is one of the best handheld games I've ever played. Others that come to mind are Golden Sun, Advance Wars, Castlevania: DoS and Metroid Zero, which wasn't even original.

If you think the gfx on that is awesome, check out the upcoming NG for Xbox 360. You get new weapons like claws, scythe, etc, new kickass ninpo, etc, etc. The visuals are amazing and twice as gory as before. WHOO

Ninja Gaiden pwns all ninja games no doubt.
