About keyloggers, is there a way you can Copy-Paste your pw into the pw field at the login? I dont think keyloggers save the words you selected.. that way you could create a file (on a differen computer to be more secure) with your pass on it, then saving it in your own, and everytime you want to login just copy-paste it. Even if logging fails, the pw continues saved in memory, and you can paste it again..

But this only works if there's a way to copy(ctrl-c) and paste(ctrl-v) into the pw field and if keyloggers dont save what you've selected...

well i've basicly done all of this,

this forum has an email i don't use for my silk acount, i'm not telling you my user name, nor my password

but as far something that nonsensical, i'm not sure i use keyboard paterns that my fingers can remember, something brute force will take for ever, but i don't see myself as much of a target i don't have any high lvls or mass amounts of gold, I don't piss people off, and i was half way safe about doing it. but even if i do get hacked oh well its just a game. i mean i can just make a new account.

People _CAN_ figure out your secret question. One person ... took "birthplace" as a question on their account. I found out the user's country.
I pulled up a list of the 10 major cities in that person's country. (towns & villages don't have hospitals). They were born in city #4. Account is hacked.

Another person - they listed their pet as their secret answer. So, I searched for their username - and an animal. Found their pet's name. Account is hacked.

heres another thing you could add for the secret question put something like mothers madin name and put down your birth place lol i only got hacked once because i really dont know what happend i think maybe i put my user id in the wrong place and someone got it but all they got was my armor and crap (and on my old hybrid blader only got to 30 ) i still use the same id never got hacked again and hell i can give someone my id and email and no one will get it i bet ya

That is just guessing and researching thier info, not really "hacking" its not much better then having a prgram guess it for you(bruteforcing).

He can do all this w/o information but it would take a bit longer

but w/ info it's much shorter to hack an account.
Especialy on SRO all there is..is a simple security question that can easily be cracked.
maybe you should look-up hacking techniques.. it's allover google.. =]

i don't feel like reading the posts instead I'll give you another tip for your email address.

change your email address to something that does not exist. I just made up some loony crap. for my email and changed it to that on all my accounts. If i happen to ever need to change my password and I don't know my email I can just log-in and look at it in my user profile.

if you're the type to forget passwords then set your email as your phone#@yahoo.com

nice tips, what he said is actually very doable. some of the posts were all, "that's not a hack. :point: :laugh: nub" he probably knows that smart asses, take it for what it is, as far as the layman is concerned getting their account stolen is getting "hacked" in sro terminology.

as for keyloggers as long as you don't go dl-ing wierd things from sro-related sites and/or visiting untrustworthy sro-related sites the chances of your silkroad account getting keylogged is rather slim... i'd be more worried about your credit card number or something important.

also there are programs that hides what you type, i use one actually. and remember to keep your security updated and recent.

someone tried to scam me by a bit differant method.
I got a msg in game which said something like that:
Hey friend, someone i know sells your account on silkroadservice.tk , i dont know did he get your pw or something.. Just warning you..
---
Then i wanted to check silkroadservice.tk(something similiar) , but ofcourse, once you go there, he asks your id & pw -.- . It was abit tricky cuz the id and pw enter was identical to the one at silkroadonline.net login.. Watch out for that crap.
