Avast is god. If you have an anti virus program it should be Avast. Although really you don't need one as long as you are careful.

There's my answer
Maybe once every few months I install antivirus tools and run through my entire pc overnight. Then uninstall again.
I did try alot of different antivirus programs though.
Havn't had virusses in years, I mostly visit the same webadresses, even for pronz, and use Mcafee site advisor when I doubt visiting an 'unknown' page.

My only problem is I've now got Vista 64 and I'm not sure if Avast has a 64-bit friendly version. Besides that, I've got Avast on every machine I am currently or have ever been responsible for except one that has AVG.
EDIT: I have to say tho, I just responded to another post that reminds me that by far my most important "antivirus" software is Firefox with AdBlock Plus and NoScript.

You can still be infected even if you are "careful" sometimes without even knowing it.

The best way to protect yourself is by learning the different ways you can be infected and modifying your behavior online. I've always "clicked cautiously" so to speak. Every time I see some junk on a website or in my inbox trying to lure me into clicking on something, I just think of the words of Admiral Ackbar... "IT'S A TRAP!"
