Hybrid is the best build..
i am a level 4x str hybrid, and im loving my build, sure im probably not as great as a pure int/str whatever, but i have made a build that i like, can do well in PVP so i think that, that is all that matters. Who cares honestly if you are the strongest and can own whoever and whatever....at the end of the day if you can do well and have fun doing it....then go ahead and do it.

Joymax should make a pvp server accessible to users in all the different servers. Would be nice to quiet down people who only knows how to say, Hybrids suk or Str Hybrids sux or anything along those lines. Most probably they have too many botters botting on pure builds. Or they lack a mind. Or they are yet to see one in action. Athens has many good hybrid builds. Some are nearly fully farmed. Try talking about hybrids when you have actually fought 1. (A good one and not those who act as though they know what they are doing)
Back to topic starter, hybrids are good builds if you know what you are doing. So this would require some experience with SRO. I have met too many people who say they are hybrids but then when you probe further, they say stuff like 'I read it was a good build in SRF/SRT so i am using it. Btw, what masteries do i need?" I was like OMG. I even met people who quote SRF topics word by word. Come on, reading is one thing, actually having experience with it is another. Don't try telling me why ice is better than fire and then proceed to quote me someone I don't even know from some SRO related forum. Most of the hybrids in Athens are good because most of the players have been playing since the server was out. They know what they are doing. Most have 2 to 3 chars. Pure builds for sure since they were the rage back then. But now, most are training and farming new hybrid chars and some have already reached Lv 70 and fully farmed. So you are justified when you say hybrids are good builds cause Athens has many of them. As for the rest of the servers, I dunno but I dare say you have yet to meet a really pro hybrid char. Cause if you did, you wouldn't put them down so lightly.
Peace.

http://www.silkroadforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=7853 - This thread shows you how to create a good Int Hybrid build - it's full STR until level 11 - that's 30 points into STR overall. If you've been doing a 2:1 STR/INT build to level 20, that's only 18 points into STR so far. You have time to fix it. =)
Kitary is an idiot.
I bot.

My friend sitting right next to me says your a nub cakes...
um both you and your friend can make a name on babel lvl it up and i will beat both of you
i am not talking about 2:1 hybrid, im heavy int hybrid with 100%+ mag and 70%+ phy
<<banned from SRF for bot admission. -SG>>
without hybrid , you have like 100% balance on either magic or physical and 30% on the other.
and you put hybrid to lose 20% on your main balance to boost 20% on the other balance ? >.<
ur damage is based on your main balance .... got the point ?
hybrid can win against int but not against str ,
str pure pvp winning rate does not mainly depend on your damage but mostly on the critical ... you have more crit = more chance to finish the fight . Who would want to go hybrid to have a lil more damage but a big less on critical ....
And pure int with sword skill is considered stronger than hybrid sword.
I've seen a lvl 70 pure int with sword skill win 5/5 against a 70 full farmed Glavie pure str SOS glavie 64+7

I have a lvl 60 str-hybrid blader and i just owned a lvl 64 pure str glaviedude.
I've putted 38 points in int, and the others in str.. As long as your physical balance is above 90%, you are ok. Still i regret those points i putted in int, I didnt know what i was doing till lvl 40, and i'm to lazy to start over again.
My opinion: Just know how to use the skills, and youll win every fight, unless you are a 1:1 ofcourse
Killing someone when they don't have pots on does NOT count ROFL.
Criterion = retired.

My friend sitting right next to me says your a nub cakes...
You sir obviously haven’t been around long enough to make such statements. If you had read some stuff, you would know by now that hybrid’s don’t suck at all, on the contrary, certain hybrid builds kick pure’s ass.
You are a big nubcake trying to start the hybrid good/bad discussion all over again, when it has been proven: Hybrid’s (int based) do very, very very well.

i think too many ppl forget about gears, which are very important. i'm emphasizing this, cuz if u dont have pimped ur gears (ie adding +, str, int, hp and mp) u even lose against same build, which is 4 lvls below u. if u really wanna compare the superiority of a build, take npc armor and weapon. then u pvp and u will see, which one is stronger.
many ppl say, take a full int, then add str and hp. u can have more than 8k hp as a full int (u gain with gears around 4k or more hp and with heuksal passive, u get another 1k hp, so totally u can get around 5k additional hp). but on the other hand, a pure str glaive can also add str, hp. so he could have around 16k hp. and if this pure str glaive also adds int and mp to his gears (u can get about 4k additional mp), he will do a lot of more damage and have more magical defense. so imagine, how many nukes or stabs u will need as a full int to kill this full str.
i dont really believe in hybrid, cuz if we as full str glaive manage to crit one time, u as hybrid will die pretty fast. ok, u can crit too, but we have a bigger chance to survive. we could use ghost walk to escape, let ur hp refresh and then come back. but u as hybrid, perhaps wont have the chance to escape. this is also the reason, why i dont really believe in knockdown and stab. ok, u do much dam, but u wont be able to kill. it will be sufficient for us to have around 2k hp left and then use ghost walk. then we come back -.-
as pure int, u have little hp. ok, u can add str and hp to ur gears and u have around 8k hp. but as i said above, a full str can do that too. if u as pure int wear a shield with crit 100, we add blocking parry 100, so u hardly block. now who has the advantage? i tell u: full str glaive. why? cuz we can use ghost walk, when ur hp goes down too fast. but u cant escape, when ur stunned. and in this time, we can kill u.
i've seen many pvp duels. pure int with much hp are good, this is unquestioned. but if a full str glaive with 16k hp and 7k mp can do around 2,5k dam per hit on u, u just die. it's that easy. as soon as ur stunned, u cant escape and u wont be able to block, cuz of block parry.
so my conclusion is: all builds are good, but u have to think all the time, that every build can add the same features to their gears. and if u consider this, u will come to the conclusion, that full str builds have a bigger chance to survive. thats my opinion.
ps: Hexana from NyghtBreed on troy have been pwned so many times by LordKenso from GUCCI, who is a pure strl glaive -.-

Re: Hybrid is the best build..
Howdy kids, haha yes i realise i haven't been on this site for almost two years. Sorry!
Things have changed. Firstly i'd like to say to whoever wrote the last post that no this wasn't some big joke to make people build rubbish characters, i would never do that. Secondly; i quit SRO over a year ago and have only just now re-started on the new server Hera. I'm building a full STR blader. And this is why i say things have changed.. i'm not following my own advice. In light of the 90 cap soon upon us, things i've heard from different threads and sources suggest that bladers will have some big new skill that will increase their attack power by lots, or something.
But will consequently lower their defence. Therefore i no longer see any point going hybrid with a blader, as you lose the criticals and this skill is basically doing it for you. No idea about glaivers. Infact i currently know very little about silkroad because i haven't played for so long. Probably wont be able to answer any update questions, so. oh well.
b'bye x
