The end of an ERA

Post by MaliceSoldier »

Today I ended a cicle in my SRO career. Today I say good bye to the first line in battle and go back to the stable where they put the old horses that are not suitable for war any more. Today I quit as GL of MaliceArmy in Odin. I been lvl 80 for a long long time now. And frankly I feel myself realized in everything I could dream of. I started a guild from scratch in a new server and managed to join lots of great people, friend, good friends, that ended up building the empire that MaliceArmy is today. I reached lvl 80 fully farmed. We conquered the castle and had no challenge to take it away from us. We beated several guilds in wars and managed to accomplish supremacy in the server (To the point no one wants to war us). Franky I can’t ask for anything else. And the lack of new content makes me feel like SRO is showing me a screen that says “GAME OVER” at the moment.

Today I transfer the torch to someone that still has the SRO flame burning strong in him. Because is only someone with that spirit that can lead a guild to victory. Frankly for me that flame is gone so it’s not fair to the guild to stay as leader. The guild is in great hands and I have no doubt that the name will stay as an ongoing legend.

MaliceArmy people are just great.. it was very hard to let them go. But the cons of SRO are every day greater, bots are obviously a problem that JM can’t and will never handle, greediness Is coming to outrageous lvls, premiums that cost the same as the subscription to wow and eve together. And 100 more problems all derivates from the company make this game what it is. I love SRO... but JoyMax made me hate it. For long I stayed because it was the only hope to stay with the guild but now new options arrive. 2008 is the year of the big game releases... Age of Conan probably will be the jewel of the next years and MaliceArmy plans to make a show up  . And the complexity of the game requires pre planning.

I say goodbye to everyone. To those that fought with us and support us every time I say thanks you made most of the actions that I took easy decisions. For the ones that hate me because you hate that I brought a bot witch hunt to Odin I tell you thank you… a game without a nemesis is not a game. I had fun chasing you down.

And now some pics… old old pics… when people lvl 20 grinded in pts… To show all those out there begging for pwl lvl if not I can’t grind that it is possible.

Great great times back then, it's a shame Joymax would refuse to do anything about their situation. People would enjoy the game so much more through the experiences our guild shared through the times and that experience would be preserved. Great screenshots aswell, so many memories associated with them.

Another valiant warrior falls. Great screens makes me regret not joining the odin MA when I had the chance. But you take care of yourself and don't be a stranger now best of luck in RL.

Another one gone =/

Most of your problems could have been solved if you moved to cSRO though.

Good screenies BTW...extremely motivating for me.

Depending on when it'll be released a lot of the old school players are going to come back and play.

Really inspiring! It's nice to see that you can grind with the same people for so many times. I'm sure you made a lot of good friends there, and I'm sure they will all miss you.
