WHAHAAAHHT

I JUST TYPED LIKE 500 WORDS AND THEY ARE MISSING NOW T_T

:[

i was gonna give you so many tips..

edit: tried to retype it.
    Portal page
i'd either get rid of it, or change it.
the button does not work with that background, i suggest you pick
a font that goes with the background, then just make a button that
says "Enter my site". looks way more professional ;]

    Index page
i love the background you used for the index page, but it doesn't
really fit with the banner you made. perhaps you can adjust the
colors of that background to make it fit to your banner, maybe
even put in some stars to get the spacy touch.

i don't like the buttons you use atm, are those permanent or are
those just temporary buttons? i'd definitely not go with a "mij,
mezelf en ik" button, that sounds very unprofessional. i'd stick
with the regular portfolio buttons. that means:

  • Your name - this button links to a page with your personal
info and a link to a pdf version of your CV.
  • Portfolio - this button links to a page with a few new
    buttons.
    • Projects - School projects / work projects here.
    • Hobbies - Stuff like photography, painting, etc. here.
^ you can add subgroups like graphical works, webdesigns, logos, etc.
  • Contact - this button links to a page where people can find
    your contact info.

i think if you stick to those groups, it will be easier for you
and will look better because these are the most used chapters in
portfolio sites.[/list]

ok minitut, starting with fading background.

  • Open Flash
  • Open New Flash File
  • Adjust the workspace to your desired workspace
flash always starts out with a workspace of 550x400 pixels. this is a
rather small workspace. most sites i know have a 800x600 workspace and
just have a nice background around it to make the whole look as if it
takes up a whole page. besides that, you should pump up the amount of
fps (frames per second). the more frames per second, the smoother the
animation will go. i usually put mine on 25 fps to start with. this will
only have effect on the timeline which i will discuss a little further
    on.
    - Adjusting the workspace
image below. click the "550x400 pixels" button, it brings you to this menu.
put in a width and height and an fps, and you're good to start animating.

    Image

  • Insert a picture to your workspace
This is a bit tricky to find at first. you can copy+paste images to your
workspace, but you will always have to convert it to a symbol before you
can work with it. lets do it the right way the first time.
    -Inserting a picture
image below. CTRL+R for quick buttons.

    Image

    -Inserted picture

    Image

Convert the picture to a useable symbol
important: you can not use pictures to create animations. you need to convert
the pictures first. you can convert em to movie clips (mostly for moving images
or images with several coding on em), buttons (speaks for themselves) and graphics
(mostly background images). lets turn this image into a graphic.
-Converting the picture to a graphic symbol
image below. left click the image to select it. hit F8, choose graphic.

    Image

How to make the picture fade
Fading the picture is actually an easy job. you start on the first frame,
making sure your picture is transparent there. on a further frame, lets say
frame 10, we pump the transparency down so the image is visible. now all we
have to do is create motion in between those frames. flash can do that.
    -Making the picture fade
image below. left click the picture to select it. the menu at the bottom of
the page changes a little, you get new options. select the alpha option. the
lower the alpha value, the lower the opacity of the image. set it to 0.

    Image

  • Make a new frame on the timeline + motion tween.
make a new frame on the timeline. this frame will be your faded-in background.
you can put your mouse anywhere on the timeline (i took frame 10), it will just
effect the length of your animation. motion tween is a tool that fills up the
frames between your keyframes with basically what should be filled up between
your image at frame 1 and your image later on the timeline. so, we now have a
faded out image on frame 1, we will make a faded in image at frame 10, the
motion tween will fill up all the frames between that so we have a nice fade.
-Making a new frame on the timeline and animating motion.
image below. left click somewhere on the timeline, i chose frame 10. do not
touch the image you already have on the workspace. yes, the transparent one.
next hit F6. this will make a new keyframe on the timeline at the selected spot.
you will notice that your image is there as well, on this new keyframe. keyframe
means you can smack on new stuff. if you would now place something on frame 9,
it will automatically be placed on frame 1 (cause its a keyframe). the other frames
are just there to fill up the time between those keyframes.

    Image

    Image

    Image

now, click your transparent image and get that alpha (opacity) back up to 100%.
after that, select frame 1 to 10 (or whichever keyframe you made), rightclick that
and select "Create motion tween". this will create your tween. now, press CTRL+ENTER
to look at your animation, it will be looped.

lunch now, i will continue a bit later on. <3
