Pets get poisoned quite often because they eat a lot of stuff they find and are not supposed to eat it... Happened to one of our cats some time ago as well.

same happened to one of ours. he was missing for about 1,5 years, then we
found him in one of our neighbor's barns. apparently he ate a rat which had
just eaten rat poison, and thats what killed our cat. was really sad, he
looked mummified *_*

when I was a kid we had a dog and his like a super dog. Loves to run around, we even let him go around the neighborhood by himself. Then he'll be home around 6pm, it's his schedule to eat, tho I never noticed he was missing for some time. When we started looking for him we didn't find him. Some people said maybe he was eaten (yah there are some people here who loves to eat domestic animals, tho i don't know why). Crazy people you ate our dog, too bad we never knew who did it.

to topic starter even if you find a new dog it will never replace the last one..
