Discord wave + a couple of other skills

How useful is it? I've only used it once or twice, and doesn't seem to do much, the aggro comes back quite quickly, is there a better way to use it?

I'm doing a wizard/bard build, and I've farmed 200k for it, I was just wondering for the wizard bit, are mana drain, first earth and first lightning nukes useful? First earth nuke seems to be useless with the second one, but sometimes you don't want to aggro more dudes... first lightning nuke's just plain stupid imo

Discord Wave can be used to defend your Cleric when you are partying. Basically you can be a personal bodyguard and servant if you want to. Heal the cleric's MP, speed buff, guard tambour, and while doing so, you can save them by using Discord Wave, Temptation, and Holding Clamor. It's pretty much foolproof because you have three ways to stop monsters.

But the thing is,
1. I only bard for noise, speed and recovering me/party members' mp, is discord wave useful as well?
2. It seems to last for a very very short time...

If you're going to only use Bard as a sub, I wouldn't worry about Discord. by the time you switch weapons and cast it you'd be better off firing a nuke at the mob and drawing it to yourself, which either A) your cleric saw, and will in a gesture of thanks, heal you until you kill the mob or B) the tank saw it and aggro's it to him.

Oh and one other thing that was pointed out to me, is sometimes discord actually works the reverse of the way it's intended. I've seen it actually attract mobs. Once it was pointed out to me, I did notice that it happened sometimes.

thee reason it can attract mobs i think is cuz its similar to how fear works. that being said, if 'bard is mainly just sub, fear can save too

Mana Drain - doesn't work on mobs so only useful for PvP/jobbing - I don't have it and don't plan on getting it until I'm fully farmed 80, maybe. I don't PvP much and when jobbing, often not time to cast the skill.

1st earth and lightning nukes - useless imo, earth requires you be too close to mobs & lightning is really weak - I don't have either, you can survive on 1st fire & ice nukes until can get the better earth nuke.

I've got Charged Wind at lvl 1 only (KB can save your life ) and Teleport. If you are soloing, the fear lightning skill is useful against giants - had it on my character on Hercules and loved it. I party 99% of time now so I don't have Fear on this character.



For the Discord Wave discussion, I've used it on cleric or wiz in my party when they're being chased by mobs. If it works, the mob will just stop. Get lots of thanks for that. BTW, you can use Temptation in the same way. Mob will just stop chasing, and if another mob is nearby, can start attacking it.
Just don't use Discord Wave on the warriors! I was in a party with a noob bard that kept using it on the warriors. Took us a while to figure out why the mobs would suddenly aggro on the wizards. Party chat was not very polite on that topic.

lol ok I thought the same of the earth/lightning nukes, but for mana drain, should I just get mana drought at 76? I can always use my farmed discord wave stuff on mana drain...

Before I deleveled to farm, I had temptation, and it kinda sucked, always failed, maybe 1 in 3 worked

So, no discord wave for me then I guess
