Think of it this way, Silkroad is a game, rather than play the game themselves, botters have a bot do it for them. A bot is something people use to play the game for them, now:

Say that a car is a game, we drive (or "play") it ourselves, we don't have a program that drives it for us.

Microsoft word is a program we use to proof read our papers, we don't have the program write the whole paper for us, thus, it has no relevant meaning to the point you are trying to get across.

Factory machinery is equipment used to help us build cars that we designed, they don't design them for us, they are the "tool" we use to do a job that needs to be done, refer to my first statement about cars.

if i can make a robot and let it sit at my computer and play 24/7, what would you say to that?

then there's cheating/hacking. bot does everything and only things that JM let you do! it doesnt fly to the spot, it doesnt go on GODMODE! you can kill the botter when you pvp, the botter doesnt have infinite hp, doesnt have 999999 dmage

Another point I got across was that this forum is full of people waiting to jump on people for being stupid. They don't try to look outside the box and with an open mind try to see what a person is actually trying to talk about.

I'm saying what if a tool that helped you was illegal? Guns are illegal in most states but that doesn't mean the United States goes out of the country to use guns on different countries. The whole point of a factory is to mass produce things, so why would we hate them for being in operation?

Word's auto-correct feature is annoying for me. Usually it's wrong when I use it, but sometimes it's right. I usually either cancel it's auto correct, or turn the feature off completely.

Walking is just not practical for long distances. Too many factors in life depend on you getting to a destination more quickly, like life/death emergencies, getting to work on time so you don't get fired, getting to your daughter's ballet recital that you've been missing for the past year because you always want to walk there and you don't want her to hate you for the rest of her life...

In SRO, the point isn't to race to cap and abuse the system by sitting on a horse all day, or letting a computer program (bot) run to gain your exp. You're comparing apples and oranges here.

You seem to be deliberately going out of your way to ignore the obvious. Botting is against the rules. Nuclear's analogy was the most apt because it really is on the same level as botting and SRO.

We are playing a game, a game with rules that are designed to prevent cheating. When you play a sport, certain things are illegal for fairness. The use of steroids for example. Why are they illegal? I mean SOME ppl still use them, right? Because in any contest, the rules are the parameters to determine who succeeds. You dont enter a marathon with a motorcycle and anyone would consider that silly.
