Whenever I get disconnected from the server either from a random disconnect from the server, the ????? error, or just getting disconnected at the log-in screen, it ends up with me not letting me open any programs. To name a few, IE, Firefox, Task Bar manager(ctrl alt delete), MSN, SilkRoad, Control Panel.
I can open folders, thats about it.
When I restart my computer its different as if I was restarting my computer not even touching SRO.
When I restart my computer after getting this crap where I can't open any program, the windows restarts with a rectangular box that says like Windows XP home edition and the background is all black.
When I restart my computer just regularly, without any error from SRO or disconnection, the desktop turns all grey -> then into a blue screen that says Windows is shutting down or whatever.
I've also tried leaving task manager open (ctrl + alt + delete) while playing SRO, so when I do get disconnected I can see if any SRO programs were running. Nope.
My computer specs
Dell Dimension 8400
3.2 Ghz
1 Gb Ram
ATi X800 256mb
P4
Sound Blaster Live! 24-bit
Programs wont open after disconnect

ok, I had this exact same problem along with my puter rebooting whenever I started up SRO.
Turns out I had a trojan backdoor.haxdoor
Neither norton anti virus, spybot or adaware identified this, but after downloading ewido anti-spyware, I found it and was able to remove it.
Since then I have had no problems at all, can always get to the login screen without any errors. And I dont need tp reboot after SRO shut downs anymore.
No more reboots
