After Death- My Theory

Post by San »

Lots of thinking, about 3 months went into thinking about this, and i still can't explain it very well, so here I go:

Death is something most people probably fear. Your days of living, breathing, sensing, love, friends and family, everything will come to an end. Also the thought of how you will die may frighten some people. Will you drown? Be shot? Suicide? Or die peacefully, knowing you lived your life to its fullest. Now, what trumps most people, is what happens after death. Is there really salvation? Heaven? Or do you just go into nothingness? Rebirth is the beginning of mine.

Rebirth, or reincarnation is a theory to what happens after death. you will survive death by being reborn into a new body. Now, when you are reborn, you will have no memories of past lives, events, or traits even. Now, I believe you can be reborn in any time, place, event. You can be reborn in the stone age, future of 2290, or your time period right now. I also believe you can be reborn only as the species of your past life. If your a human, you will be reborn as one.

Now, what if there were different time paths? Different dimensions of time where our worlds destiny is different? I believe we can be reborn into an entirely different time path. One where the World Wars never happened. Slavery was never ended. Back to the Europeans not discovering america, or the vikings even. Where the Civil War and American Revolution never came upon us. where the Americans are still ruled by Britain. Even back to the Earth never forming. On this theory, We are all in one time path. There are billions in another. This may seem a little far-fetched, but is it possible? Maybe we'll never find out.

Also, there is also the possibility of being reborn in the same life in a different time path. Or maybe the same, however, we have different characteristics inside and out. We could be the next Einstein in one and be the dumbest ape-like human in another. We would be able to replay out our lives in each perspective without knowing it.

Quantum Mechanics may explain the above better. According to Quantum Mechanics, each choice you make has its outcome. Say you ask for orange juice. In the Quantum Mechanics world, there is only a probability that you would actually acquire orange juice. In another dimension, you play out another possibility and in another dimension another and so on and so forth. Death may be a key to unlocking the other possibilities again without being aware of our previous results.

I am not telling you to accept this, just letting my thoughts out.(Sorry if this confuses you, I did my best)

Thanks,
-San

-Edit- btw, the final push I got to completely post this was the String Theory. If you do not know what this is, you should look it up, as me explaining it may confuse you as I only understand tidbits of it.

I catch myself thinking about the exact same thing God only knows how many times, so your post really strikes a chord with me.
Its a good theory you have there. But its just like any other - a theory at the most. To me, yours has equal merit as the entire concept of salvation, reincarnation, damnation, or any other. But the thing is, how will we ever know for sure until we actually find death and see im in the face?
It really bites at me that we know nothing about what happens after death. As an atheist, I don't believe in heaven or hell. I believe that once you're dead, you're dead for eternity. Your mind simply ceases to exist.
But if you think about that a little, how is it even possible for your mind to just cease and desist - for eternity?. Eternity is forever. What happens then? Where do you go, then? What happens? Your mind? Your person, your being... life itself.
Just trying to wrap my brain around the concept of eternity alone, be it in hell, heaven, nothingness, or whatever you choose to believe in, is hard enough as it is.

For the sake of sanity, I stop when I get to that point.

i believe the cycle may go on forever, there may be no salvation, or anything beyond, just the reincarnation for infinite.

I went to a strictly Catholic Highschool, and until I was about 15 I read the Bible regularly etc. I was confirmed at 14, and at the time, it was the proudest moment of my life.

But, as I grew up and followed through academically, I began to see the ignorance and hypocrisy of the Catholic Church. After that I was determined to convert to another denomination, but realized they were all the same thing. I recently was in the process of converting to Buddhism, with the help of my dad, but I realized I was a closet-atheist. So as I came out of that closet I recognized several core beliefs that I have are true, and one of them regards death.

I believe the state of being dead is similar to sleeping, that is: that you don't conciously know you're alive and time doesn't seem to ever pass, because you are unaware of it - a state of infinity. If there is a soul, an inner human quality, it would manifest itself through dreams in this state, but I highly doubt such a thing exists. Because of my beliefs regarding death, I am not afraid of it. Dying tomorrow isn't something that freightens me, as I realize that even when dead I won't be conciously able to grief. However, what does frighten me is the process of dying, the slow painful process that leads of up to infiniteness.

Honestly I don't fear death. I got my reasons, some of them: it's my only ticket to meet God (I believe in Him, if you don't, I respect that so please respect me too). 2nd everyone will die, it's pointless to fear it coz in the end it be there no matter how hard our attempts are. So just enjoy life.

I used to think of life of a giant dream a years ago. We were all being controlled by aliens and we were all asleep. When we die, we wake up and work with the aliens.

I was nine at the time, and now a believe what i wrote.

ya, but what if you die painfully? death won't carry you away immediatly. You will be faced with pain before whatever lies ahead.

Pain is part of life. If my death would be a slow and painful process then so be it. After that painful death will be eternal rest. It's a fare reward for me.

Part of me thinks "something" (any of "after death" theories) happens when you die. Another part of me thinks when you die you die, nothing happens.

In the end I don't know, and I don't give no sh1t.
What will it change knowing that if I'm dead I'm walkking around as a ghost or I don't even exist at all?

I'm a factual person... to me, the things that matter are either the ones i experience and the ones others experience and might affect me or my loved ones.

That's why i gave up on thinking of death. I would if i could hear what dead people felt when they died but, they can't tell, and they can't come back, as far as i know. That leads me to think that, when you die, that's it. So i better worry about life, instead of death.

Unless someone came from there in some way and told me what happens, then i will keep thinking that way :)

Phoebe in Friends remember her other life in World War 2 or was it 1? When she looses a arm in a surgery by a bomb.

I dont think we "reborn". I think we just get buried, get eaten by disgusting bugs and become one with the soil after a couple of years and thats it. end of story

Well I think instead of thinking about death why won't we all think about now?

Sometimes i think about such stuff too

I have no idea what will happen after death, i just can't think of that it would end right away.

And i believe there is no such thing as time, we created time as a measurement of how long something takes. As for us, we exist, we move around, you can't stop "time" or reverse it, neither would it be possible to be in another dimension in my eyes

Good theory, San! But I believe something isnt right in it.

San wrote:If your a human, you will be reborn as one.

Since I cant put it into words, Ill try this way:
1soul+1body=1person
The body dies at some time, but the soul stays, as you said.
People can produce new bodies by having children, but the soul's quantity stays the same, because you said that if you WERE human, you WILL BE human again. And...since the soul'snumber never changes, the number of people on earth shouldnt change, or go over a limit, either. And its not like that. :)

Otherwise, I agree with the rest of your theory, you have point.

I love the idea of there being something after death (heaven, or even hell, reincarnation whatever you wish), however it is nothing more than an idea, and I don't believe in it.

I love spiders, can I have you as my pet? :P

I just want to enjoy my life, not think about death or what will happen after I die (probably nothing) I'm here alive and kicking and thats all that matters..

My idea, is that people "imagined" the after-life and religions due to the fear of death, animals would do the same if they had the brain capabilities, it's only because we fear death, when we die, we'll be just like any other animal,. it'll be like before we were born, it seems like there was no past till we were born

i dont think there is anything after this life.
"you don't conciously know you're alive and time doesn't seem to ever pass, because you are unaware of it - a state of infinity"
was a good describtion of how i think it is.

but there is nothing wrong with believing in something after life, as long as you dont fear death its all fine ^__^

I think everything in the universe has the power of a soul, it defines its existence. I think everything in existence is connected and to some extent shares its soul with everything else. I think when anything dies it returns to the universe and the joint soul that everything shares and i think there its broken down and recycled to make new souls but keep some of the information from the old souls. I think the souls of the dead or destroyed will join with he souls that makes up the universe and await the process like an ocean thats slowly being filtered. I think death will be like the eternal dream however i believe that the dream of death will take the form of whatever you truly believe you've earned. Those who believe they've done terrible things and believe in hell will probably find themselves in a dream of hell for all eternity, those who believe they'll return to the plains after death will return to the plains etc. Eventually all souls will be broken down and returned to make new souls but i haven't thought about how long this would take for a particular soul. Im not afraid of dying but im not done yet and wouldn't want to leave this world with regrets, you only get 1 life but i believe if you manage to wake your soul up from death you could probably reincarnate somehow.

y'all are some morbid mother f*ckers. the fact is, noone knows what happens when you die. plain and simple. why the **** would you waste the precious time you have here in this life pondering death? do you really want to die? who gives a rats ass what happens. you are here now and you should make the most of it. if you need to know what happens so bad, why not go play in traffic. if you want to ponder a thought for months on end, why not try to figure out a cure for world hunger...or at least something that matters.

Well, whichever is true, I wouldn't want to live my life, without corruption and fun thinking id go to heaven after for an eternity of happiness, and in the end, you just die. It isnt really guaranteed, you have only your faith, thats why you live your life to the fullest, your not guaranteed an afterlife....

Went to a methodist school for 3 years and a catholic school for 9 in the Philippines before I moved here to the US to finish my final years in high school. However, even though most of my old friends all grew up to be god-fearing religious people, I managed to stray away from such self-destructive practices. It's better to think logically rather than just blindly assuming things. So yes, I am an atheist and I agree with a lot of people here that there is no such thing as an afterlife; there is only death. After you die, you just go into a state of non-existence. Try to imagine sleep without dreams..that's probably what it feels like. :P

I'm an RN major so just like Barotix and the others said, read your biology textbook :)

Death = Death. There is no "mind" or consciousness after death. When the body shuts down, the chemicals and neurons in our brain simply stop transmitting. These neural connections stop working because everything else has shut down. The loss of weight in some bodies is due to voiding your bowls.

When no oxygen gets to your brain, it temporarily shuts down. During this you lose consciousness, and if oxygen isn't sent to your brain in time it goes into an energy saving mode, after that its a long and painful struggle. Eventually it ends - it just goes blank - there can't (logically) be anything after death.

Read enough Biology, and Psychology articles/books, and eventually you'll come to the conclusion that, all the evidence points to nothing coming next. Just death.

Everything dies, everything has a brain, everything lives and is born, does everything go to Heaven? (assuming you have a denomination that believes in heaven)No, by Human logic everything doesn't go to Heaven.

Meh, as i said Death = Death, nothing more. String theory is nice.

If anyone knows what quantum mechanics are, then you may be able to understand my post a little better.

accordingly the quantum mechanics, every choice we make is like a roll of a dice. The choice you make is what you "rolled". However, based on quantum mechanics, every other possibility is played out in another dimension. My belief is that we may be reborn and replay all these events with each of the different outcomes.
