Internationalizing

Post by Doron »

So, this week is our school doing some internationalizing things, so there are a lot of teens from other european countries skipping around in our school...

And it is really funny, how people talk about the kid that is crashing at their place for a week and then gtfo of our country again...

like:

Mine didn't fall the whole 10 minutes while riding our bikes to school!

Mine has eaten all the dutch crap we've been feeding her, she said it was delicious!

Mine can rap!

Mine is the best english speaker of all the Turks who are here!

Or for the people who don't hve one, but have friends who do have a little foreighn pet:

Which of them is yours?

Where is yours?

How old is yours?

Where does it come from?

How good can yours ride a bike?

that kinda stuff..

Kinda funny, like we're talking about it like their the newest toy like a TamaGotchii or a Furby...

And of corse, you have it a week, and then their out of fashion again...

So, did you ever went out to another country for a week? strange language, strange culture, strange people, strange food, that stuff...
Misbehave in your own language, and humiliate them and insult them in your own language, the one they don't speak...

It's fun....

Furby

LOL, that's how they would probably do it, sending US to foreign countries. I guess most people aren't used to it.

LoL awww that's harsh, funny but harsh :D

I've actually had that back fire on me. I was at a party and i said something insulting in tagalog (Main dialect of the Philippines) about some dude (not filipino) who thought he was all that and more. You could imagine my embarrassment when i heard him speak fluent tagalog to a mate of mine later on in the night.

Ryoko!!

I thought you, as the boss would know that I'm a guy...

And when did this thread get destroyed cuz of the furbies??

I meant it like, that we talk about the other country ppl like furby's, cuz their like little pets, you take them to school everyday and after a week it is over...

Been to Poland and Czeck Republic... found 2 english-speakers in Poland, some girl that was selling hats in a supermarket and a guide who was fcking crazy, that ruskie accent, sounded like a dominatrix.

Most people in Czeck spoke english but there was this one person that didnt, was some clerk, and i tried talking Croatian to him, knowing the 2 languages are similar, end up insulting him :D some "normal" words in cro = swears in czeck and vice versa.

Last year I had a german exchange student at the house for 2 weeks. He was pretty cool, and spoke better english than most of my own family. Then my brother went over to his house in Berlin for a bit as well. It sounded like fun, I wish I coulda went :)

It's a TamaGotchii... or something in that direction..

This little electronic pet in a little computer thingy which you have to feed and stuff... were the big fashion statement a while ago, but after a week everybody's tamagotchies died cuz they weren't interesting enough and they didn't feel like getting a new one...

we got some guys form Italy.

They all had two things in common: all were fat and smoked.

mentioning the word 'healthy food' made them already puke.
