looking to find good music

so im trying to build up a nice amount of music. is there anyone that knows how i can find good artists easily? or is anyone that can reccomend me some good stuff if i like mostly alternative rock, some rock and some pop?

I would just go to iTunes, and search the top 100 songs under the Alternative section. That's what I do when I'm searching for new artists. None of them are exactly underground, but I manage to find treasures from time to time.

For example, I'm loving the song Crushcrushcrush by Paramore right now.

Vh1 is shit...All the music on there sucks...same goes for mtv and mtv2...fuse is decent but its not great
