Silkroad....

Post by sting13 »

Over the last 2 days ive been download tons of other mmos... Cabal, Shaiya Online, Rappelz, Hero Online and others.. just for the fact i cant get in sro now that my premium ended. Now that ive tried all these games i can tell you none of them are as appealing as sro. I can remember the first time i tried sro, i was like omfg this the best game ever, i can remember installing in the morning and playing until i went to sleep (This when athens server was new so before bots got out of hand). Now I have given up my search for another mmo, but i wonder, what is it in SRO that is so appealing? It has no gm support, massive bot problem and scammers.... but it has something other MMO's dont have.... thoughts?

Edit: like 2 minutes after posting this i got in server... how ironic lolz

its their marketing strategy, when you can't log in most of the time, it makes you happy when you can actually log in which motivates you to grind

Well personally i kept playing sro for a simple reason: there wasnt any typical party play.

This is what drew me to the game. Yeah party play in mmo's such as ff11 can be fun, but i live a busy life. When im gaming there may be times where i have to get up and turn the computer off at any second due to whatever needs to be attended to. SRO was a game where i could solo and just level up on my own time. I 1st started in the 60 cap so there was no massive grind, there was no rush to hit lvl 60, there was no pressure of struggling trying to find a party. It was simply me logging on and doing what i wanted, in my own time.

That was why i liked the game so much. Now with the introduction of the european race it annoys me. Like i dont mind party play, in the right party it can be enjoyable. But i find that i cant stay in a party for more than an hour or two. I either need to go and do something, attend to something, call someone etc. Now with my new job i go to bed at 9 at night, so i dont even have the option to late night game anymore.

It was also sro's unique system that drew me to it, jobbing. Personally i thought it was a great idea. Many games when you hit lvl 80.. things start to get a little more boring. Now with sro at any level you can have a whole lot of fun with this system. At level 80 its obviously much easier, but even at low levels the thrill of doing a 5* trade or being a hunter to the trade and knowing at any second i may die or succeed.. its great.

Well said :) Yeah I agree with all of you ... The game is so simple and stupid but something is in it ... that keeps me playing it ...

Silkroad is such a beautiful game really..

The graphics, music, I love it.
The PvP systems.. skills.. everything.

The game itself is great.. but as everyone knows the goldbots take so much away from the game

runescape aint' choppy LOL.. unless your on dial-up in the library, like most people that play runescape.. /stereotype

Umm maybe because sro has lot to offer, and its not like knight online where all you do is train, and when you get done getting the highest lvl you basically just sit there.. WoW has quests which make the game alot more fun, but i mean once your 70 you basically make a new acc. or like grind honor.. SRO you can pvp (which you can in WoW and KO don't get me wrong) but you can also job, which isn't out there to alot of mmos. and maybe because your just a little addicted, i was but then i just got a p lvl so i was on like 5 min. a day xD

sro is till now the best game I ever played.... I have alot of mmo's on my PC but SRO is still the best, even better than wow and archlord
2moons is also ranked high on my list of favourite games, but it's only fun to do it once in a while

I've tried many, many free MMO's and I always come back to Silkroad. my first MMO I've ever tried was R.O.S.E Online, and the only reason i quit that was it going P2P and SRO took ROSE's spot and hasn't left and there doesn't seem to be any game to dethroning it, CABAL came close though

It's a shame with the bot problem and poor customer support

idk the first time i played it seamed big and promising, lol i grinded to 10 on mangyang alone the first night i played because i couldnt' wait to get a horse, i was very dissapointed when i found out the horses are disposable. And my first build was of course the 1 to 1 hybrid. I do kinda like the fact you could just go train when ever, no need to wait on parties, you don't have to party with a euro but it sure does help but annoying when you can't get one when you need it. I tried wow and cabal, idk i did like wow though but no jobbing system, the map is huge on wow it makes sro look tiny. I like the crude system, the art, the game that looks and feels old and classic even if its new, they went old school on us and it turned out good.

To be honest I kinda like the whole concept of the game. Hell even our battle against bots is pretty exciting. Its like we are good guys and they are bad guys. Well I dont see it like that. I could careless about bots. I just play to play. I dont bot and never will but they can do what they want to do. If they get banned they shouldnt cry about it. Oh and its not me supporting bots. Im just saying I could careless about them. :D
