I can run the game fine on medium setting but i play everything on low just for more performance.. usually takes forever for silkroad to start but game play is pretty smooth i would say most of the time playin sometimes i would get couple hitch and lagg in pvp.. or going inside out of town.
I just ordered a Radeon 9800 PRO 128MB from ebay for like 28 dollars.. its comin in couple days was wondering how much more improvement will i get will be dramatic?? slight?? ANyone help!! ;S
Fix your RAM. The graphics card won't help too much. The difference between 512MB and 1GB is really big, trust me, i've been through the same issues as you have.
You would have been much better off ordering more RAM
well 9800 pro is i belive 340mhz, where the 9200 is i think 250mhz? i got the nvidia fx 5200 which is about the compareer to the 9200, and if i were to go to a 9800, id get about 18% better performace, so ud be at about 20%

really only 20% so its barely nothing -.-??
I thought this card was all good in its hey-day lol
i had nvidia 5200 also.... its sitting next to a desk beside me, i now use Radeon x1650 Pro, decent card getting old, but that 9800 card is pretty old man, and you wont notice any difference at all practically, and yes upgrade ram
ehh well 15% would get u about 10fps better,,, ud probs get around 15fps more with the card ur getting... so thats not bad.. get up to 1gig ram, ull load faster.. u can have more going on in screen(less lag in pvp) and ull get another few fps
heh... once i get a job im building myself a ncie lil rig... gonna have meself a nice lil mobo with nice fbs.. 2gbs of DDR2 800 pc2 6400 ram... for my cpu, imma have a athlon 64 x2 5200 a western 250gb hd... and to top her off imma have a ati radeon HD 2600xt 512mb with ddr3.. this running on xp sp2 and a 19inch ws monitor
Eh TBH it would be better to just get a whole new pc, or atleast the main parts (Cpu motherboard and ram videocard), I bought cpu motherboard and ram at christmas and paid $300 or so, my video card didnt need upgrading, but it costs $170.. so in the future if you look to get a new rid could make one for $500 or so Edit: btw forgot to mention i can run pretty well most games on medium/high, can run sro in res 1440x900 on high (except for high shadows grr) Cod4 on high settings 1440x900 does the job and i love it <3
only prob with buying a pc is monitor and os... thats like half the cost with my build... i would have allrdy bought my sytem... but decided to get 360... cuz id have to save up twice as long(2 years total) for the monitor as os still

Eh true kinda... i got my os from a pirate, he liked to say yarrr xD.... monitor LG 19" Flatron was bought with graduation money hehe
Silkroad is not very well optimized to take advantage of the newest cards out. I used to play with a Nvidia 7600gs which was more then enough to play on max settings. Now I have a Nvidia 8800gt which gets around the same performance as the 7600gs. Maybe a few extra fps here and there, but sro is basically looking and playing the same as before.. Now comparing these two cards to Call of Duty 4. 7600gs could barely play at lowest settings. Very choppy, under 30 avg fps, looks bad and kinda unplayable. 8800gt can max out every setting, avg 80~90 constant fps, looks amazing, and makes the game 100 times better.
Too bad graphics cannot make sro better. It is the company that ruins the game.
ya first of all get at least 1 gig of ram, second I would suggest an nvidia 9600 GT or 8800GT because they give you a lot of performance for what you pay, that is if u have a PCI Express slot but you might not. Also the performance difference between a 9200 and a 9800 is fairly big, buteven a 9800 is 3 series behind the current cards. I would of bought an ATI X series or a 6x at least for nvidia if I was u but oh well

there is a difference between cs source and silkroad online a BIG one, notice cs source is a very old game and silkroad updates its client all the time with new things. you DO need more ram probably more then what people are saying i would go with 1.5 gigs of ram or more! people have different ways some people update about once every year to just keep up to average on the there system for me i buy the best at that time and dont buy another for 5+ years.
