I think beating kids hard would only teach them to lie and cover it up good the next time..not stop doing what they are doing.

Although beating sometimes is necessary, reasoning and peaceful punishments are also required sometimes...for example a kid shouldnt be beaten up for spilling something on the floor.

I never got beaten up more than twice or thrice in my life and i grew up to be a pretty reasonable and humble child..and no i'm not a pussy i actually dont take crap from anyone.

Beating should be only when something serious is discovered like discovering that ur kid smoked something or drank..so that the kid would realize that this is not a normal thing and this is no normal punishment.

Well my friend at school hes a pretty rich kid, his parents dont ever beat him because they are complete retards. I reamember asking him "do your parents beat you?" then he was like "No, but they scream at me its so scary i hate it when they do it i start crying after it." Then he starts talking about how much it sucks that they yell at him. Hes a spoiled pussy, he overracts to the slightest things, i think he parents should beat the living hell outta him. If he thinks getting yelled at is hard, hes going to fail at life...

Yep they do, so much times when I was little lol.. in my country there is now law for this kind of shit and even if there was... when I was little I was in the deep gheto in town... so this was part of my "life educations" things happens on the streets as well..
But since I turned 10 they stop, now when I do something wrong they just yell at me... my pa is 55 and mom is 50 so... what can they do to some yong and strong budy like me

Nuklear, listen up. If you tell any 5 year old to stop touching or messing withing something, whats gonna happen? They are going to do it becaues you asked them not to.You can sit them down and tell them the reason its bad, do you really believe they understand why. I have a nephew who for the love of god likes to throw things, cause he thinks he is just playing. To make a long story short, after repeated corner time outs, and talking to him, he decided to throw a toy across the room. He hit his cousin(my daughter) in the face, and busted her lip, i gently spanked him on his hand and explained why it was bad, and that if he does it again he will get a spanking. Guess what, he doesnt throw things anymore. Not because he is scared, because he knows its wrong.
