Haha, yeah, I guess you're right. I said that the US would likely have allies, because as has already been mentioned, they are have powerful military abilities. I was just saying that if they didn't have any, but you're right, the US'd be able to fund the war somehow.
That's assuming the US doesn't keep up their current military spending or even increase it.
Regardless I'm confident unless something extremely major or unusual happens, US isn't going to stop being at the top for a long time.
All things come to an end so in a way you are right one day the US probably won't be at the top either for military or economic reasons, but I'm assuming the original question is intended for "now."
Right NOW if sh1t hit the fan, allies or no allies US would win by a landside. With nukes that is tricky but I think the US would still win, if it could be considered that. Actually sh1thole countries would probably win since no one would bother with them..
Nukes are more a peacetime weapon than anything nowadays. Whoever has them calls the shots, because nobody will ever actually use them we use the threat of them to get people to "cooperate". Even if a nuke was used it would probably have to be a very desperate situation, and it would probably have to go thru a lot of approval with that side's allies.
We could've just nuked the middle east until it resembled Emerald City, but we didn't because they're better used as threats. I'm sure everybody in charge knows why they can't use nukes, it's just too destructive and shit like that can shake long-time alliances.

yes true, but if its a free for all the U.S. wouldn't hesitate to use them; also @ another comment earlier, if another country tried nuking the U.S. they would just use anti nukes and blow them out of the sky

Imo... Everyone would be obliterated...(I dont mean Everyone ) Nukes.... They are a useless tool that will benefit mankind in no way possible, The fact that they are still being made and not destroyed is completely insane. Anything that can wipe out millions of people will serve nothing to mankind... Ugh it just disqused me how stupid humans really are... Russia has the most nukes out of everyone in the whole entire world. They can literally send a few nukes to every country and the world and just be chillen.

it depends, I don't think it would be a free for all, countries WILL take sides and it depends on who goes on which side. Obviously, countries that get help or depend on the United States will side with the US and countries that hate the US will side with the other dominant side.
united states will win if there was a war today, it has too many allies and too strong military to be defeated. And its strictly about who has more nukes. Countries will be very very careful with nukes because sending off a nuke just guarentees mutual destruction. Nucklear weapons will be used in only the MOST EXTREME situations..which is unlikely to happen.
So unless you send off 100 nukes to flatten a country completely before they can respond..nukes will just destroy the human race, I don't think anyone wants that
the US has enough weaponry to kill the entire human population numerous times over. If all else fails, take em all down.
But seriously, the US would easily win, because right now it is the undisputed king of military power, and our allies in europe would flock to our doorstep is shit ever went down in china or russia.
