Do you still want a bard and are looking for a Sub? If so that's why hootsh is probably suggesting the Wiz, for soloing bard/wiz is better than bard/cleric, any defensive spells you get from the Cleric side are pretty much evened out by Noise (no mobs attack other than champs and giants) and for the champs and giants if you can't take them down, you've got the speed to runaway in moving march. And you can kill things much faster with wiz skills than cleric skills, at the lower levels anyway.

You're right about the fact that I'm still looking for a sub. But I really would like the cleric sub, but only if it's slightly capable of dual wielding with a bard. I'm not saying that I'll have to fully cover the skills of bard and cleric when I'm in a party, but bless and recovery division would be great. Also some of the buffs for the party members that stay for 5 minutes.

Remember, this build will be solely used for party play in order to achieve improvements in fortress wars, guild wars and jobs within my guild. If I would be looking for the best sub for every situation, no question about it that it would be wizard. But since I'm only gonna use it for party play I'm thinking that cleric might be good as well, as a true support class.

Well, I was more or less replying to what hootsh had said, I had forgotten that you were using this primarily as pty chr and so his point of wiz/bard for solo is better, doesn't really apply.

If what you want is pty play, then Cleric is probably the best, but keep in mind when it comes to the buffers people want the cleric first, the bard second. So if they see you as both and don't have a cleric in the party already, they are going to want you to play cleric, in which case you have to keep up both sets of skills, which means a lot of farming and the fact that you won't be playing the class this chr is specifically designed for. Just my 2c, I had a 1h/cleric and there were lots of tanks around, so everyone always wanted me to play cleric, even though I only had a few of the skills, like rez and bless, eventually, I ended up bumping up all the cleric skills so I could use the cleric properly in a pty.

My bard sub cleric has performed well in the recent event wars

I do recommend getting heavenly rage and offering also - as well as all 3 different res.

I do switch hotkeys a lot and it takes quite some practice to be able to wield both successfully. One thing i definitely recommend is switching to lite armor if you can (means keeping cleric and bard lvls the same).

Hey great reply. I already found out for myself that I needed the offering. Heavenly rage...don't know what it does, have to check when I log in. Also, the light armor would be my choice also, but I'm probably gonna switch to light armor at lvl 40, cause I'm thinking of leveling up bard only untill level 40..

Heavenly rage just makes offering more powerful (it's a passive skill)

I'd recommend leveling up cleric sooner rather than later, simply cause SP gets slower and slower to farm the higher you lvl up (I had to farm 100k at lvl 80 when I got there.... not fun at all)

Enjoy - Bard sub cleric is really a fun build
Be sure to use the sp and gap calculators from nivlam to work out exactly what gap u need. Bard and cleric both need a huge injection of SP for new skills at lvl 60 and it's easy to be caught short.

The reason for taking cleric later on is that at later levels I can join parties within my guild with a couple of high levels. Besides...just because I don't take the cleric skills right away, doesn't mean I'm gonna take a 1 or 2 gap...
