One thing some people should realize is that parents beat their kids because they love them, not because they hate them. Beating makes you a man and teaches you lessons that are a must to living a successful life. We should all beat our kids.

man kids have been getting there asses whipped for thousands of years as a form of discipline.

its only in our generation that discipline has turned into "abuse" its bullshit IMO. Im only 15 and my dad never beat me but he could scare the living **** outta me when he wanted to and for that i truly respect him cause i didnt make to many mistakes twice when he got pissed off at them once.

he died when i was 12 but i would still never disrespect my mom for fear that he would come back and **** me up

My parents rarely ever did, since I knew that if I screwed up I would get my ass whooped. So in order to avoid it, I wouldn't always get into mega trouble. My parents were never very strict either but that's probably because they trusted me after following rules for so long.

My little sister on the other hand lol, she still gets beatings and she's gonna be 17 this year.

I got a good smack around every once and a while, nothing serious. When i was really little I use to run to my room and cover myself in blankets hoping to save my little ass. Never worked. Eventually i learned to deal with pain and punishment, and when the time came for a smack, i stood in front of my father and served my punishment, belt across the chest and ass. I certainly can take a punch now.

I think theres noting wrong with some physical punishment. Obviously you don't beat your kid until he/she bleeds, but theres nothing wrong with spanking, or slapping, or "conditioning" as i got.

I have a friend whose dad would beat the shit out of him if he did anything wrong and eventually he just got used to it and it wasn't a deterrent he kept doing bad things just to show the beatings didn't work. Yes my parents beat me but it was mostly my dad and right now we don't have a very good relationship whereas my mom would try a different deterrent and if that didn't work then she'd beat me. I think it takes more love and patience to try something else cause its really not that hard for someone whose bigger and stronger to beat the crap out of someone whose smaller and weaker and most of the times these feelings of corporal punishment carry over into life outside the house, ppl start using physical violence as a means to fix problems because thats how problems were solved when they were growing up, this leads to many other things but the point im trying to make is beating a child is not good parenting, teaching a child right from wrong without beating them takes more effort and the results are normally much more positive.

I only ever was smacked on the arse for doing shit I wont repeat again and that was only a couple of times in my life. Pain can be used for dicipline (Definitely not saying there aren't any other ways to dicipline a child) , but the thing that makes the difference is how it is done..

yup, also agree here. My parents never beat me, not even raise their hand on me. We always talked about everything, even tho i was a crazy lil girl, yet my mom just used kind words and kinda conviced me of stop being a lil demon, which i did.

As a young teenager yeah, i remember i came in the house and i had weed in my pocket and it feel out on the sofa, you can just image what happened.

But i <3 my mummy she doesn't hit me we are like best friends.

I got beat once by my dad when I was like 7 and my mum beat me another time when I was around 11 or twelve and after that I never got beats anymore just smacks.

I remember when I'v flushed my mom's purse,my dad beated the **** out of me,I'v never touched her purse ever since.
This is seriously the way,if the kids dont listen,what you gonna do?Punishment?yea right no nintendo for 10 days,thats nothing compare to a good old school beatin',cuz then,they will learn!
I'm Morrocain,and thats everywere in Morroco,it depends in wich culture you lived,in North-Africa,its normal for kids to get spanked/beat up,go to Canada and tell your friend you get beat up they'll go "wtf call police".
Im just saying,sometime beating is the way to go
